Bill, these must be wheels that fit a few cars.

These are our specs: Bolt Pattern 5/114.3, Center Bore 66.2, So you should definitely use centering rings (hub-rings) with these rims.
The rims will be tucked in quite a bit. It would be nicer with an offset of 35 to 40mm IMO

You are correct with your thread size.

Perhaps some others will give their opinions here.

^good info. I agree with the lower offset for a better look and the need for centering ring.

I've had a short experience not using them in an application before and was lucky on no damage.

they'll fit but some wheel spacers (adapters) would finish them off well.

Get some 20"s. 18s are just way too small.

i do like the look of big rims but.... i love going to the drag stripe so i can't get anything bigger than 18's. 18's are even kinda to big for the track but its my dailly driver so i try to do the best i can....

^ agreed but 19's with 40's rubbers are the perfect, stock matching diameter, and will give you the best performance as 40's dont flex laterally as much as 50 series on 18s.

...But whatever floats your boat as they say, just throwing it out there.

I also like the look of 19 and 20s but don't want to sacrifice my ride too much or the integrity of my rims and tires driving the type roads I do.
So I prefer 18" on my car.

honestly, if you don't plan to lower your car 18's are definitely the way to go, I agree with that 110%.
40 series tires on a car that isn't lowered just doesn't look right or do the car justice. 18's are that happy middle. Like your rims or the stock sport 18's look right at that height.
I only suggest 19's to those who lower and want to keep the same rim/tire diameter.
BTW, I'm not a fan of 20's either, little bit too big for my taste.

i am thinking rubber will be 235 or 245/40 or 45 if i can/18. what are some good offsets for the sedan. keep in mind i want NO rubbing at all. also i have never used hub rings before. how nessary are they. i have had a couple pairs of volks and some gram lights and never used them before... no issues either. that was on my 02 wrx.

Both offsets will work for sure Bill
Just to give you an idea. Here are my rims before I bought them from InTgr8r. He had them on his 04 Sedan. They were 8.5/18 with 42mm offset. The tires were 255/40/18 all round. They looked awesome on his 04, that's why I got them from him.
You have seen them on my car with the 245s.
Here is the link for pics on his 04:https://g35driver.com/forums/members/intgr8r-albums-g35-sedans.html
Oh and as to hub rings (centering rings), they guarentee a better balance when installed on the car they rely on the hub along with the studs to center the wheel rather than just the studs. I can help you out with rings when I get back from holidays if you want.
