Thanks guys. Now I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one with that smell problem.

I also feel better searching the forums and finding out Im not the only one that needs a new compression rod either... F*CK

Noticed it for the first time just yesterday, left it over night, started it up and it smelt like a burning smell from the vent but went away soon after I started driving.

I also get a burning smell everytime the tires spin, which is alot in the winter -_- ...

Holy sh*T

I thought it was just me...

WOW, i've been smelling that too.
Luckily i haven't driven my car out in winter lately, since i got the wife an Altima.

Thanks for all the info guys, at first i thought it was the Mats, or could it be burning oil.
since my 06 was known for that.

I hope we can figure this out, so it's the salt from the wet roads from the exhaust ehh.. hmm..

I don't think we can conclusively say what it is...

I think it's from the winter tires. I get the smell from both cars, but more often on the G.

I smell the same thing on my car and I never drove it this winter...I turn it on once in a while but I didn't really notice the smell...

When I did drive it last 2 weeks ago...I noticed the smell...I doubt that its salt because I never drove it...however, I did have Krown before I winter...iunno let me know what you think...

Dealer guy said it's normal, road muck burning off the exhaust etc.

However, I never noticed it on my old M5...

Whatever.

I noticed this smell on my car today and was worried it was the tranny from spirited driving. I have smelled it on other cars too.

Back from the dead.... This is a known issue. I didn't smell it all summer and I have not smelled it yet... but I'm sure I will when the gravel hits.
