Well, whaddaya know? I just pulled out my own license and discovered that I have a class "GM" (car & motorcycle). I had no idea I was licensed for motorcycle in Ontario.
.........
No plans to buy a bike, but you never know when it could come in handy. Maybe I'll just tease my wife with it.

Give it a go & then let us know how the dog house is.
G1 Driver class supervision
In the most current Ontario Highway Traffic Act (currently used by the OPP in May of 2009) the legislation says that a class G1 driver must be accompanied by a driver who has been licensed for at least 4 years. This has been confirmed to me by a member of the Ontario Provincial Police. This means that so long as you have had your drivers license (G1, G2 INCLUDED) then you may legally accompany a class G1 driver. This being said with the amount of accident I have personally seen due to irresponsible G1 drivers I would suggest that take the time to assess the driving skills of the G1 driver before taking them on to busy roads.
I let this girl drive my car once.... literally I thought my neck was going to break. I tend to find they are afraid to ride the clutch and its like on/off. But hes right, its still just a car... just like how I drive it in the winter and people freak. CHILLLLLL hahahaha
My mom can drive that car better than any of my car buddies and she hasnt driven stick for years! Shocked the hell outta me.

with a stick you're basically driving with the clutch off the line and not so much the accelerator.... modulating it to get the car moving.
i helped a friend learn stick once. trained her to hold the rpms steady on the accelerator at around 2500 and then simply modulate the clutch to get the car to move. once she got used to that ... she was moving the car at around 1500 rpms without any stalls. i was really proud of her and her apprehensions quickly went away after that.
