Summer Tires in the Great White North

I run my winters from early November to late March so will probably switch over in the next week or two, whenever I can hook up with my son to do all three cars at once.
Wayne, what tire do you run in summer? I'm only going to get one more season out of my OEM Turdanzas.

In Calgary the cheapest quote so far that I've found is $1190 CDN (installed, taxes included) for a set of 4 - 245/40R19 Kumho Ecsta SPT. I'm assuming that you should find similar prices in Toronto.

As long is there is some frost left in the ground you should be fine with winters until 7C. After that they are supposed to wear pretty fast. It doesn't matter if there is snow on the ground, it is more of a temperature thing.

In Calgary we have oddball weather at the best of times. You can never rule out a foot of snow overnight in May. I want to find that fine line between keeping my winters on too long and putting summers on to early.

Aww man , you got ripped off! I paid $1180 6 weeks ago in Vancouver Pretty happy so far. Better grip, and a bit quieter than the OEM's.

Without fail, we get one more significant snowfall right after I switch out my rubber, so I'm holding off until the end of March, at least...
