Well, the Stillen's off, the OEM's back on and I only cried a small tear. To make up for it, though, I put the rest of the Stillen CAI on. Along with the plenum spacer, it has a pretty satisfying intake growl now. Here's a pic, I'll take another one when it's CLEAN!

Sounds like the same thing I went through with the Borla.
The coupe midi will definitely help.
Match it up with an HKS rear =

My car is so quiet now, I have to check the tach to see if it's running, LOL. Time to get that Z middy on, maybe later this week.

Unless I can talk KevcoG35 into trading me his 05 sedan mid for the Z unit!

nah... the 05 sedan midi is still too quiet.

...for the Z midi, do you have the extension piece to make it fit?

I was thinking I'd have a muffler shop make one. Or do you know of one that's 'off the shelf'??

Just installed the Z-middy on my 03. Now THAT'S closer to the sound I was looking for! Quiet at idle with just a hint of growl, almost-coupe-like howl at revs and best of all - zero drone. Nearly perfect, I may just do one more small tweak. Details TBD. I'm very glad now I listened to InTgr8r and didn't go with the 05 sedan middy, he wise magic.

One note of caution - buy the coupe middy and bolt it up yourself rather than do what I did and buy the Z then pay to have it extended. Save some $$. I just couldn't find one.

Now someone buy my Stillen!!

About 3", but I've been told that's significant.

Srsly, no difference in the res or the sound. I'm lovin' it.

The are exactly the same, except the Z is shorter because a Z is shorter than a G.
You used to be able to order an off the shelf extension from EverythingG35.com
IDK if they still carry it or not
