Brake Pad replacement

I recently had my front brake pads on my G35coupe 6MT replaced at 26000km based on dealer service recommendation.

Is this unusuall at such a low K ?

I must admit that I have been quite a lead foot and I just cant drive my G slow !

Thanks

Re: Brake Pad replacement

There have been lots of people having problems w/ the brakes wearing out too fast. You're not alone, I think there's probably a TSB (technical service bulletin) for it at the dealers.

Re: Brake Pad replacement

He has Brembo's tho. They are not covered under warranty.

I had my rotors and pads changed twice already ALL FREE with 37,000kms (non Brembo). How much were the pads from the dealer? Front only or all four corners?

It's still a G thang!!

Re: Brake Pad replacement

These were just the fronts and they costed CAN $560 labour and taxes. They said they "did something" for me since they quoted over CAN $700 and I started complaining. They machined the rotors only and changed the pads.

I am curious though, why if there is a problem that the Brembos wouldn't be covered under the warranty ? Is there something I am missing in the warranty fine print ?

Re: Brake Pad replacement

What you missed is that the Brembos are ment to wear out fast thats why they work so well but you pay for it in the end!!! I've heard that a complete brake job for Brembos is 2700 CAD.

Re: Brake Pad replacement

i have the brembos too and i'm at 38km so far and haven't replaced the pads yet... and i'm not one to drive like a granny either. you should have inspected your brakes yourself and see exactly how much there's left, you know how dealers are, they'll say anything to make money out of you... plus when my brakes are done, i'm gonna buy those hawk pads and replace them anywhere but a dealership, because dealers always rip you off for labour and everything

You want a honest straight up, no BS opinion and service from a dealer, go see Jerry at Yorkville Infiniti. I'm waaay uptown and the quality of service he delivers is worth every kilometre I have to drive to get there.

As a car enthusiast himself, Jerry has had many hopped up rides and he can relate.
