Jobs in the 519

I am about 2 weeks away from being done school and then I am kinda stuck...

Does anyone from the Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo area know of something that would work for part or full time. Might just be the summer, but if it goes on that's cool since it's my last year of high school.

I am taking a year off of school before going to post secondary, but I kind of need a job for that....

Any suggestions guys?

Thanks.

GL with that. Both my daughters are home from University and neither can find any work. It's tough out there.

4DGS requests to meet daughters in 3...2...1...

But srsly, have you thought of starting your own small business? Garnet Canuck stays pretty busy detailing cars. What other skills do you have?

It's hard 4DGS. The current market makes it super hard to break into any market. My suggestion well at least what has worked for me in the past is to do some volunteer work and network from there. The key when I was in my situation was to stay as busy as possible.

Good luck with the job hunt !

What interests you?
What skills do you have?
What would you take if you went to college/university?
Is serving coffee and donuts ok or are you looking for something more career oriented?

Shawn87 also requests to meet daughters..

FYI the mining/engineering sector also is taking a kicking... we've laid off about half our staff and well as our clients laying off/shutting down for the summer.

lol, well I also have nun chuck skills, bo staff skills etc.

I like cars...obviously so working with them would be pretty good. I worked at Suds, detailing place. So I have a quite a bit of experience detailing cars. I actually have been detailing friends and families cars just for some extra cash but if I were going to do that I would need a garage or a full size place to do it.

For post secondary I am debating between auto work (paint and body) or Police foundations.

I am going to put some resumes out to the several tint/detailing places in the area and also the autobody places. If I could just get a job cleaning up I'd be happy to have the experience and ability to learn in the environment.

I am looking for something for the summer as I am 50% sure I have a job at a Subaru dealer when fall rolls around. But it would be nice to have something to fall back on if that doesn't work. I am taking a year off school before going to college just to work so I need something good!

So I guess I am looking at car detailers, auto body, tint shops and dealerships...

Thanks for the good luck comments, it's looking like I'll need it!
