OBD II Scanner (K/W)

If anyone in the area wants to buy a OBD II scanner (ECU scanner) go to princess auto (by Conestoga's dune campus)

They have them for $100 and they work great, me and my brother picked one up because his car is getting old and runs weird codes when nothings wrong, so he just erases them haha.

I'll get the model and all that if you want it but just go and ask the guys where they are. They're near the front check out.

Good deal and well worth having. At that price, it's an excellent investment.

I don't think it was a sale, I think it was just an awesome deal haha. I am pretty sure they will have it and if they don't they will order it.

I'll get you the model name so you can go in and order if it's not there. It's red and grey for anyone wondering.

Good investment Sam.

I bought one there for $39 after reading this thread:
https://g35driver.com/forums/canada/...cess-auto.html
It probably has fewer functions than the model you're talking about.
After reading about the Cobb Access Port, I wish I just put the money towards that instead!

Hmm, will this work on early 03 cars, i.e. mine and Blain's?

^yes it will,

in fact this will work on 08+models as it has CAN protocol. i've been doing some research on this topic lately and this one supports older protocols including keyword 2000, VPM and PWM (pretty much everything made after 96).

Yea works on my car. It's great for after installing a mod you can just reset the ECU and take it for a re-learn/spin.

OBD II has been industry standard since 1996 I believe. Certain car companies used it before that as well. I think most import cars did from around 1992 and onward. GM and american cars made it mandatory on 1996 model year and up (so anything produced early 95 will probably have it)

It's pretty easy, the manual shows you how to do most of it.

From what I know:
1. Have the car on and plug it in
2. turn the car off and turn the key to the on position but not started
3. turn the unit on and let it fully load up (I think this one turns on when it's plugged in)
4. Just go through the menus and find read codes and it will tell you the code error.

I think you just need to do that the first time you use it though. So any other time just plug it in and read codes. Mines not here right now it's in my brothers car so I can't verify what each button says.

I can meet up with you if you're having trouble though.
