hey guys,
just bought a 06 g35x, love it so far its great.
I was wondering however, what brand of gas you guys recommend (shell, sunoco). I was leaning more towards Shell because of this nitrogen enhanced stuff they just came up with, what do you guys think?
Next this car is gonna be doing hwy mostly, like 95% of this time, so what kind of oil do you guys put in your g's? i was thinking of going synthetic but im not quite sure, its only got 62XXXkm on it so I'm even thinking of continuing with conventional. any suggestions?
Also theres this plug thingy that sticks out of the front of my g, what is it for exactly?
Cheers

I always use Shell and the premium gas (no ethanol) on my 05 G35. The nitrogen does not really boost or provide any horsepower as it only improves the detergents in the gas not the octane rating. I would highly suggest that you use synthetic for your car and also you Motul brand as its pretty damn good, but pricey so shop around.
LOL.. That thingy is for your engine block heater for those really cold winter nights. This keeps the engine oil warm and makes it easier to start when cold. It also helps with the warm up process. Just remember to unplug it before you start your car.

Shell has actually been using the exact same gas for about 6 years they just decided to tell us that it was "nitrogen enriched" now.
That being said, I only fill up at shell. I like the airmiles haha, if I have a second choice it's sunoco. But no where else, those two and those two only.
If your car hasn't been given synthetic from day one there is really no point in doing at this point. It can actually cause problems in some cars, so save the money and just put regular oil in.
Plug thingy? in the dead center of the bumper? that would be your tow hook.
Since you're in London, once you egt it modded up come down to Kitchener area and we'll get a photoshoot going with a few of the other 519 guys.
Welcome to the board, we're all pretty friendly and full of info!

1. I always try to use Sunoco or Shell - 91 or better
2. If the engine runs smooth then I would stick with conventional oil.
3. The plug is for your block heater. It heats the engine block to keep all the fluids warm. Plug it in when it's below freezing, -20C or so. You don't need it so much (around here) if you are parked indoors.
