Is it ok to rev the car right after starting it for a kickass sound?

Even the exhaust doesn't sound as good cold as it does when its had time to warm up.
I would never rev my engine until it's had a few seconds for the fluids to get warm, filter and circulate.
Sounds like you already knew the answer before you asked.

!! alteast u picked up on that.... and no, i'm not trying to be lil jon, just did it for a laugh..and i probably was high when posting this as well lol.... just like all the other type of scarcism you read in this forum...

anyways... thanks guys... but most of you seem to be using your common sense to answer this question.. which i have as well. I obviously know its not a good idea to rev it during a cold start... its summer here...... my car is also parked in a climate controlled garage and 95% of the time, i'm doing it when I have already driven my car for a short period..

so the final thought on this is, ITS OK TO DO IT.

besides... my car is stored during the winter so no cold starts for me

* auto starting your car at extreme temperatures for 10 minutes and driving does more damage to the components then to drive your car progressively to the speed limit. heats up faster and you waste less gas *

^you tell'em man!!!

I've been doing that recently because I disconnected my battery (for about an hour) and my car seems to want to stall right after I start it (I'm guessing the car is trying to re-learn)

yup it does more damage if u drive it slow BUT you dont have to drive fast or slow you just idle for 5 min and if think thats a waste of gas id rather waste some gas then hurt the engine! and just so you know the car sounds really good heated up for a long period of time too! i just *used* to love the power wen it was cold but never tried to push it lol...

dumb thread, but no it is not a great idea to rev right after starting. just let it idle for 20-30 seconds before driving off and take it easy for the first few km's.

btw - it's yeyah, not yeahh.

You 'thought' you just corrected him on the spelling of a word which does not exist in the English dictionary. Correcting slang spelling.
There are so many spell checkers in these forums. That's funny.

to hear that kickass sound even better, put a hose in the exhaust and pipe it right into the car. That way all that kicksassness will be amplified for your hearing pleasure. Its also best to do that in a closed garage so you get that sweet tunnel like effect.

You should do it right now!

and yes, i know how he says it.. but its still the word "yeah" which is still slang lol...

ya useless thread.. but hey, 295 views shows something about how much time we have on our hands to read "useless" stuff lol...
