Infiniti shop rates here are $135/hr. plus 12% tax (5% GST, 7% PST). awesome. i wonder why most folks should reconsider the excellent independent shops that are available. typical shop rates at most of these are ~$85/hr. and they often don't use the magical "time charge book" that dealers use, instead you pay closer to actual time it takes to do a job. not what a book says it does, which is almost always inflated.

Plus don't forget 48K is considered a major service milestone. Not every appointment can be $60!

Rate on the other coast is $100/hour plus 10% for shop supplies and 13% tax.

Typical other shops are in the $65-$85/hour range for real time. I agree with you on the book charges.

Holy crap thats high....i pay $103 in calgary...take yur car to a nissan dealer it'll b cheepr
