Pro: It's awesome
Con: It still can use more awesome.

The question you posed has so many points its hard to put it in a pro / con list.

It all depends on what kind of money you want to put into it, and which style you like.

Do you want a coupe or sedan?
Do you like the 03-06 or the 07-08 model sedans?

Did you want all wheel drive? Did you want autotragic or 6 speed?
OEM Navigation or aftermarket?

The big question i suppose would be ... What do you want out of the car?

Yep just read the thread.

Did the same before I purchased, came from a 2002 WRX and a 2005 STi before getting the G.
Also depends if you are considering any other types of vehicles.

G35 has multiple common issues that can be annoying, the newer model the better however after 04, the rev-up engines may have oil consumptions issues.

My biggest recomendation is to get a G with some type of warranty on it.

I bought my G and luckily still had a few months of warranty on it and I fixed a tranny and drivers seat motor issue however I've had window motor failure twice, radio problems, left/right side compression rod...

However knock on wood everything is working great now, it's a lot of fun balanced well, looks are still current and sounds great.

Cons not one the fastest out there anymore, small electrical issues, clutch is kinda heavy compared to other 300+ hp cars, seat belt is quite annoying

Gas mileage is crap, noises and rattles coming from everywhere you can think of. Heavy *** door that sounds wierd when you close with windows down. CrAp compression rods, cheap paint cheap Bose system. Anything else I forget?

I haven't had any of those issues. listed above...
only thing I've found annoying are things I've caused - change pulleys, belts squeak, alignment issues that ppl in barrie can't figure out cuz they are retarded. only thing I don't like about the factory version of the car is how quickly the steering wheel has peeled. I've only got about 85k on the car, and I think I'm going to get it wrapped in carbon so I don't run into this again.

Good post. That last question is the key.

Pros: Looks great, very rewarding to drive, huge aftermarket support.

Cons: Lots of rattles, squeaks, and noises... motor is prone to oil consumption, alignment and tire wear issues, cheap speakers and sub, very soft feeling clutch, aftermarket companies don't know the difference between 02-04 sedans and 05-07 sedans, cheap door trim, ebrake sucks, sh*tty Nissan/Infiniti service, and I know there's more but I just can't think of it right now...

In my case, 04 coupe M6 brembo.

Pro's: Awesome look and sound, Great engine, Personally I like the bose and Not really squeaky here, WIcked cold A/C, brembo's are strong.

Con's: Really soft paint, Aftermarket parts are NOT honda cheap, Loves that premium gas, Brembo's eat pads and create lots of brakedust.

rattles are all the time. i have immune system now to it. seat belt and the way it goes to suffocate u is the thing i hate the most.
it depends all on the previous owner and hopefully no pre-manufacturing issues. thank god i have only minor things.
ride is good, it is one sexy car,
interior is becoming out-dated, (2003)but has this classic look.
i guess for the buck g35 is the best option. i think people can understand the comparison
when they ask the following question "which car can i buy in the same price range today?"
16-25K best bang for ur buck, a car who still make girls look at it, still rare.
i dunno maybe 2002-2005 bimmer 3 series i can only think of. (it was my first choice b4 buying the G)

the thing i HATE the most is when **** falls out of my pockets or off my lap and done the side of the seat, trying to dig my cell out of there makes me want to light the whole car on fire haha. I looked uner there the other day and found $45 in CHANGE hiding... another thing is you really have to pay to play, modding is exspensive!!!
but its all worth it for my 04 coupe

UNEDITED
