Oh Man the repairs are killing me!!!!

In the past 2 months I've spent $2000. just on repairs for my G, Pathfinder and I30 (not including the initial cost of the I30) and it hasn't come to and end yet. On Sat I went to check out my exhaust leak on my Pathfinder at the local Speedy I knew I had a hole starting in the flex pipe but what I didn't expect was the guy to show me the whole exhaust literaly falling apart So another $500. for a new system to add on top of the $2000. I'm gonna be riding a bike if this keeps up.

I still want to buy a camcorder for the family trip to Cuba and I found out today I'm gonna need some expensive tools for new jobs that came up for work. Money does not like me at all.

That sucks, car repairs are the worst. Between me and my girls birthdays this month I've dropped about $1k on unnecessary purchases...being that I'm in professional school this has made quite a dent in my pocket.

i hear ya, my winter beater is being ignorant to me aswell. put almost $500 into it and then my ebrake snapped and my gas tank straps fell off (due to rust....). wouldn't be so bad if i had a job to pay for the repairs.... uhh economy..

3 vehicles means 3x the cost.

Hopefully your cars will spare you for a while anyhow.

If you don't mind me asking, what line of work are you in? Contracting?

Dude... count yourself lucky. In 11 months, I spent over 5000 on 'necessary' repairs for my G AND I got most of my parts for cheap from that Dave guy on the cheap parts thread I started. This is one of the main reasons I sold, because I found the quality wasnt what i expected, and after a while the thrill of driving was over shadowed with the next fear of the next repair bill. I didnt beat my car, I always kept it in mint condition. What a headache.

Good luck!

The purchase of an Infiniti should come with a bottle of KY, to ease the feeling of getting bent over for repairs!!!!

I had my car for three years and only needed to change the pads and rotors. I guess I'm lucky, my driver side compression rod is starting to go on me real soon though.

Kind of the reason I try to do everything myself, even the small stuff... oil changes, clutch fluid change, brakes, differential, parking brake adjustment, and so on all adds up. Whatever I save on those things will make it easier to spend on the critical stuff I can't fix down the road.

Hopfully I'll be done with the repairs for a while, the brakes and the compression rods will get done in the spring before the G goes back on the road.

To CDN_G35 I'm a G2 Gas fitter, got my licence 1 year ago........making a crappy wage now.
