i was with Belair until they decided to charge me more than $400 a month when i was starting my own policy. But what can you expect... I'm not even 19 yet.. They also wanted a month for the whole application process...

I called TDMM up, had my insurance going immediately that night at only $270 a month...

^ good luck filing a claim with Primmum/TD.

They have a policy that says "ZERO modifications done to the car" The rep said everything right down to a chrome exhaust tip or an OEM spoiler add on.

Nope, they have it in their policy that they do NOT insure modified cars. So you're going to be into a quite the battle when it comes time for a claim

Yea that's what's happening to me, when I signed up with them they were the cheapest out there, now they're almost hitting $500 and I don't live in the GTA.

Erb and Erb just quoted me $205.....

IMO you will never know how "good" your insurance company is until you have to actually file a claim. The larger companies are often more lenient towards mods and coverages - but they also often charge more in premium.

If all you're after is a cheaper premium, then you can try the trick listed below. I know some guys in my other car club did it and save pretty substantial amounts.

http://forums.redflagdeals.com/metho...urance-345968/
I posted this in response to a post in the request-a-deal forum but figured people here might be able to use it as well....
Here's how I went about finding quotes last time I was looking...

Step 1)
Go to www.insurancehotline.com and enter all your information, at the end they will email you all your information, age, license dates, accidents, tickets etc...

Step 2**) Find the email addresses of your local brokers.
a) Go to http://www.ibao.org/html/find_a_broker/mapfind.asp and find out what Territory you are in.
b) Go to https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...c&hl=en#gid=13 and copy the email addresses from your Territory (notice the tabs at the bottom of the screen, also the < > arrows)

Step 3)
Using the email from www.insurancehotline.com... Add a generic intro to the top... "I'm looking for a auto insurance quote, could you use the information below to generate one for me? Thanks, JVM". Add all your email addresses from above as BCC (Blind Carbon Copy), so that the brokers don't see your massive email list and spam away .

Wait for a few days to let the slow brokers send you a quote and then pursue the one that gives you the best rates.

Just started a new position as a salesperson at Oakville Infiniti Nissan. I am new to sales, but I've been working in the automotive industry since I could drive.

If anybody would like to contact me regarding a new vehicle, please don't hesitate to do so.
