Since I'm new to the G I'm not sure what I should expect for gas mileage in winter. I have a 2003 automatic, used for city driving, and I've been driving it fairly mildly (waiting for summer to play).. but I'd be lucky to get over 250-300km per tank. Is that normal?
If it is, I'll continue to pay to play. lol.
edit: Also, Ive never let the gas get close to empty. Can it dip a fair amount past empty? My last car (Prelude SH) also seemed to fill a decent way past the full marker, where the G seems to hover right on full.

250-300 seems to be really low but if u accelerate too fast all the time and stuck into traffic a lot , that might be the case, normally 400 in the city is average. i only get that kind of a mileage when i drive aggressively manually shifting.
my car is stored right now but from my last year's experience, consumption was 10% bad in the winter.

Hahahaha, there's members who don't get 250 kms. in the summer months due to excess 'playing'....Originally Posted by Tabris

Sounds about right to me for you tho, With long warmups (which in a lot of cases are incomplete), cold air temps, snow and ice, and of course the worst: city driving, you can't expect much more from such a performance car.
Try not to worry about mileage in the winter so much. In the summer months when it's time to 'play', your mileage will improve but don't forget: playing cost mileage too.

Typically, my '03 Coupe would go another 50 km after the low fuel light went on, but don't let it get that low if you can avoid it: gas gauges and low fuel indicators can be very misleading.
In winter months you'd be wise to keep the tank as full as possible to prevent water condensation and subsequent fuel line freeze-up.
A good rule on thumb is to not allow the tank to go below 1/2 b4 refilling.
Congrats on the ride and welcome to 'Driver. You'll enjoy the ride.
Colin.
I'll usually fill up by 320-340 kms with my '07. A usual fill might be anywhere from 50-60 liters. Haven't really checked mileage carefully with this car but it definitely likes its drink even more than my '04 did. On the highway in the summer one tank I checked was about 26 mpg. My '04 driven the same way and on the same road would give 31 mpg.

Defo worst in the cold. Snow adds rolling resistance as well. Winter gas I buy also is ethanol enhanced which has fewer BTUs per liter so you burn more because of that too.

My 07 usually gets 400-450km per tank (city) and 600-650 (hwy). When the light comes on I have almost 10L remaining in the tank.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm not horribly worried, I did have an idea what I was in for *laughs*
I was also searching around other threads, and it seems that this car does like to give you the empty warning while you still have a fair amount of gas in the tank. Maybe when summer hits I will explore that more, but I know it's not a great idea during winter months.
And like posted above.. yeah.. snow, warm ups, heater, defrosters.. that will all drink the gas

i'm usually a shade over 500km when i fill up, roughly when the light comes on. my last fill-up was at 560kms with 65L - a bit longer than i normally wait. i only really use the car mon-fri for commuting to work so 90% city driving.
250-300kms seems really low...
