help with painting headlight housings black and painting grill black
#16
it is easier to just use a heat gun than putting the whole headlamp in the oven. all you have to do is remove the three little screws in the back of headlamp and heat slowly around where the urethane is and peel back the lense. very easy. done it 4 times already.

I think some people are afraid of melting the housing tho....
When you put it back together with the heat gun does it seal just as well as evenly heated in the oven??

Sorry pretty much posted the same as you.
Hardly call myself a pro but I have an astounding lack of fear and common sense, for every 4-5 DIYs I have done with positive results I have at least 1-2 that were utter failures. When DIY you must be willing to accept that you might fail and it may cost you more money than if you had it done by a pro in the first place. If you can accept that you can be a DIYer. My DIY don't always go as planned I have replaced virtually every moving component on the car. No one Alberta even thinks I have a car, its broken due to my failures more than it runs. However I get feel alot of pride knowing that 90% of the bolts on my car have now been turned by me. If it ever runs again its not because I am a pro but because I am among the most stubborn people on the planet and I refuse to let anything make me give up although this car is very close to beating me.
Please post some pictures when you get them back!
