Possible Repaint? Help me choose color!

***Mods, im sorry about the huge picture. I used tinypic's software to upload, and it didnt let me resize. I will reupload and have it resized.***

Long story short, i might be getting a repaint from insurance due to the tornado last year that affected Vaughn. My car was struck pretty bad.

*NOTE* The pictures were taken after the hood/A pillar/side mirror was soap cleaned, dried, degreased.

The white sparkles are stone chips, not flake in the metallic paint.

Yea, its pretty bad.

Some pics of damage:

Sandblasted Windshield:

Alright, now thats gotten over with... What color should i repaint? considering i get a repaint.

I'm thinking of oem colors, i don't wanna go away from OEM.

I'm leaning towards IP or Lexus's Starfire Pearl.

so there is no chance removing those marks, maybe our detailing Gurus on the forum might tell different opinion!

well, i can use insurance to get a repaint, and since i have 0 deductible for these things (fire, earthquake, tornado, etcetc.) why not?

a detail and definitely fix it, but it would take days to fill every single little stone chip, and wet sand, and polish. would be easier to just get a repaint.

Wow, sorry about all that damage. FWIW,My gut feeling would be, if you liked the original colour, keep it. If you want to change, go (stay) dark. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Why would insurance pay for the extra cost of colour change. I doubt it very much.

Me either, and if they do pay for it best believe your rates will sky rocket.

even they cover it ur premiums would most likely sky rocket after that. i think if u r gonna go ahead and repaint get a proof from them that they are covering it(and how much) cause u dont wanna re-paint and deal with the payment yourself.

GL keep us posted

i'm thinking, if they are just gonna sand the whole thing down and spray it again, why not opt for a different color? it's the same amount of paint, just a different color? i can probably pay a bit myself for the primer? idk. its just sorta an idea.

This thing is really complicated, but now, its the dealer's insurance i'm gonna be using since it happened while the car was at the dealer's lot, before i picked it up.

I know, i'm such an idiot for picking it up the car. Now that i think about it, i would never have picked it up until they solved this problem.

I'm just surprised that Alta Infiniti, which boasts superb car sales and service, would let me pick up a car at night knowing a tornado went over them and did damage to the cars there.

Insurance wont cover you unless the damage happens when your insured! Even then your monthly rates WILL go up.

To do a colour change properly takes alot of work and removing of engine and painting in between all the door jambs and your trunk. You dont want to paint it white when you open your door its blue under!

Then thats the DEALERS fault, I dont think your insurance would take care of this problem and you would have to go back to the dealer for them to fix it.

How did you get an idea that insurance would pay for it? Theres usually a process and insurance companies would do whatever they can NOT to pay.

Maybe i wasn't clear. I'm using the Dealer's insurance...

I am going back to the dealer. I should be calling in a few minutes....

Anyways, if the dealer would agree for a repaint under their insurance, couldn't i throw a few bucks more to the shop to cover a whole repaint?

which will probably be a few thousand instead?
