Has anybody else noticed...

that the resale values of our cars have completely tanked in the last 3 years!?!

I've been trying to sell my coupe... cars with same year (some not 6mt) and maybe 60,000 to 100,000kms are selling for 17k - 19k....

I bought my car in 07, 3 months before the american dollar tanked and people started importing... I'm into it for a stupid amount of money (no where near as bad as Gord or Dustin ) compared to what its worth now...

Looks like I'll be keeping the G for a few more years since I'm gonna lose 35k if I sell it right now!

Bye bye M3, maybe we'll meet somewhere down the road

Yeah man...I got my car in June 2007. Literally 2 months later the dollar tanked, car values dropped, then the recession hit. To keep myself happy with the car im trying to mod it to my liking, it doesnt make sense financially for me to get another car. I think I'll be driving this one to the ground lol.

Yeah, I dont think we are anywhere near civics yet...when they drop to like 5 - 8 Gs for an 03 then we are in trouble... Gs are still considered "nice" cars from what people tell me.

This is usually the case with most car makers, I was looking at some of the used Mercedes out there & you can buy a pretty nice one for around the $20k mark.

BMW offered me $16k for trade in... my car is an 04 6MT w/ 40,000 kms... they'd turn around and sell it for $27k probably...

In my mind, if I'm going to buy a 90k M3 they'd give me a better trade in, but I guess not.

About the older G's...I was considering buying one used when two people told me "dude, they burn oil". Not 100% true I now know.

So that's why I bought a new 2nd gen 08 sedan, the 07's are the same but with APA plus incentives, it worked out the same to buy new.

Now I see my 2.5years old car going for half the price I bought it for.

Sucks...but hey, bimmers drop value far worse than ours, so ohh well.

Well, it could be worst lol.... Look at my situation, I bought a perfectly drivable car with a rebuilt title with the reason that I was going to void any warranty by modding it anyways... Plus my tint project cost 5000$ so I took that into account but now, it's all going down the drain... Oh well.. I learned my lesson.. I will not be doing the same for my '10 TL.

N I think the fact that the g37 came out caused a big dip in the g35's resale value. Never buy a car at the end of it's generation..

Ppl who are buying 2010 civics are making a big mistake, cause next year Honda changing the styling n engine lol
