DSP LIGHT STAYED ON??
DSP LIGHT STAYED ON??
Hey guys,
A couple days ago I experienced something very peculiar. It was the morning where it was actually quite chilly. I started the car and on my NAVI screen I received a message to service my vehicle immediately etc. The DSP light/traction light was on and it would not go off. It stayed in for about half an hour or so and eventually turned off. Im wondering why and how this occurrred? Could it have anything to do with the sudden cold weather?? It scared me for a sec, b/c like I said I received a message on my NAVI LCD screen indicating that I go to the dealer or something..I dont recall exactly. Has anyone experienced this before??

Re: DSP LIGHT STAYED ON??
Shouldn't have anything to do with the cool weather, but may be a glitch in the traction control system. If it returns, have the dealer look at it.
An issue in any of our systems will generate a caution/instructions on the Navi, which I like.

Re: DSP LIGHT STAYED ON??
Hey, I just had all of my problems serviced. Apparently the DSP/Low Break Light Fluid Warnings and malfunctioned that I started experiencing has to do with a Recall from the past. They must have dont the fix for this problem. Also my front break pads and rotors were replaced, having to do with Early Wear & Tear by 23,000kms.
Re: DSP LIGHT STAYED ON??
As your pads wear out, they sit further from the cylinder, and thus volume of the hydraulic system is increased. This in turn reduces the amount remaining in the resevoir. Eventually, the level goes below limits, especially apparent on a cold day when the fluid becomes thicker, and the system detects a fault, so the lights come on or you get an indication on the multi-function display (nav screen). They just topped my brake fluid level today at the dealership until I get under the required 2mm wear so that they can replace the pads under warrantee.
