This Forum: Strange Observation

I posted a question about a dealership recommendation in Ottawa. It has not been replied to. Every other person who has posted similar - also has not been replied to.

Strange? or Coincidence?

This makes me think one of 2 things -

1) People did not like their experience with infiniti
2) People in here actually work for infiniti

Maybe there just isn't a lot of people from the Ottawa area on this forum.

Just a guess!

As Sammy says, there are only a few here from Ottawa whom I have seen post. Keep looking. They may not have seen your post yet.

Re: This Forum: Strange Observation

I'm going in Friday to 417 for brake warrantee and window tsb. I've twice been disappointed. First time they scraped the front of the car on the curb. Second time they ill-estimated the length of time for my service, failed to give me a car, and in their rush, failed to wash the car. They then backed it up by botching the invoice (charged me parts on the brake light recall!!!) I also listened to really bad advice on a winter set-up that they were suggesting with sizes so far off that other customers were having VDC failures (not good in the winter), and way high prices on the set-up. But I'm a patient guy. 3 strikes you're out. This is their last chance, then I go to the other Ottawa dealer. For service, I do like Dave at Kingston Nissan, and living in Ktown, this is a much better way to take care of my service. Bought my car in Cobourg Nissan ("surrogate" deal, old hockey bud is a salesman there, but thru 417). Cobourg has great service too. Finally, I'm crossing my fingers and cheering for 417. I'll let you know how it goes.

Cheers,
Derek

Thanks Derek,

So far I have heard bad things about Tony Graham and now 417! Sigh... I dealt with two salesmen at Tony Graham toyota who were both complete greedy little pigs. I knew the prices they "couldn't budge from" were WAY off the mark.

Maybe I should buy in Kingston.

Re: This Forum: Strange Observation

add "Willowdale Nissan/Infiniti" to your bad list!

Inefficient management. The owner steps out of the dealership and everything dies down! You have to wait for when its convinient for him to get answers.

After a long hassle and threat of lawsuits against the delaership, Nissan Canada and Nissan Japan through my competent lawyer I got what I paid for an undelivered car back and took my business to "Agincourt Infiniti" which is in a league of its own.

My advice, stay away from Willowdale Nissan/Infiniti even for service! I knew the owner very well and after what I did to me I can not trust him or his employees with anything about my car.

This is a small Canadian G35 forum, so you won't find many Ottawa G owners here. I believe most members in this Canada sub-forum are either from Toronto or Vancouver...

Re: This Forum: Strange Observation

When I was looking to buy my G, I went to 417 Infiniti. I test drove the G and liked it. I had purchased my previous Infiniti ( I30t) from Guelph Nissan. To make a long story short, I was not impressed with how 417 screwed around and ended up buying my G in Guelph. Now for the service problems. Twice I have brought my car in for brake work in Guelph. No small feat considering I live in K-town like Derek. Twice they said the wear wasn't enough for them to warrant putting new brakes on. Now I am at 52,000 km and I am slated to get all the brakes done next week in Guelph. It seems once they have your money, they don't want to do anything for you! The last time I grought the car in for brake work, I was told there would be a "service charge" for taking my tires to have a look at the brakes if no work was required. I thought.."hmmm doesn't take a rocket scientist long to figure out how else are you going to look at the brakes!" I argued and got my money back. I will update this forum in a week or so to tell you how I made out in Guelph. BTW... does anyone else have a problem with their climate control? My A/C blows cold air only on 18 degrees. At 18.5, it blows hot air??
Just checking...
Shecky

Re: This Forum: Strange Observation

Agincourt Infiniti = bad services.
They charged me $20 dollar for 2 screws, reason = it was very very very hard to take them out. (I found out about the charge when i got there, they didnt even call me to confirm, i should of just tell them to take it off and ill do it myself, but i wasn't in a bad mood that day)
Another day, I went there for recall on break pad...they charged me around 300 or so for the laour charge, and on the 1st invoice the amount comes to 500+ they were FXXXing charging me for the recall of the parts. OMG i was seriously getting angry at that time. Why didnt i just get the parts and bring it to other body shop to do it to save me the pain. After i point that out, they said "oh, sorry about that, we gonna give you those parts for "free" " Damm of course its free, sounds like they are giving me something that i supose to pay, but they are giving it for free.
I dont expect to buy a perfect no flawed car with 5.5k but the service is not as i expected. So next business will go to benz. I heard they have really good after service, anyone got experience?

Re: This Forum: Strange Observation

My report after the last journey:
The had a loaner for me (G35X). Spent from 10 till 2 and called me:
Despite Nissan Ktown saying I had less than 5% front pad remaining, I'm told by 417 that I have more than the 2mm req'd for replacement, and thus, no service.
My window needed special grease, so nothing done as yet, scheduled service for Nov.
The really loud clicking I described and offered to demo to the mechanic (ignored) was not heard by the mechanic. Almost lost my cool (I did turn red and I know the vein was sticking out of the side of my temple). Service manager and I went outside, and within 2 feet of my parking space, he and I had heard the noise, proceeded to repeat ad nosium, he got in, did the same, and then stormed back in and gave his mechanic a blast of sh*t. Before that, I was about to be handed a bill for 15 bucks plus tax for a BRAKE INSPECTION!!! Manager was extremely apologetic, car needs to have the back end taken apart and the axles lubed (click is metal on metal at the diff, not the ratcheting that you hear as the VDC resets, as described in the manual).
Once this work is done, I'm afraid I'm in search of another shop for warrantee work. Despite misgivings I've had about Kingston's sales dept, I like Dave in service, who has always taken care of my G, and the guys in Cobourg are cool too.
