- Audio system stopped working twice (replaced once with OEM, now replacing with DD)
- Wheel bearing gone bad (going to replace it soon)
- Under-guard has been ripped four times

got 98,000km on a 2003 coupe
-compression rods, wheel bushings, heat shield gets loose(so metal noise at 2-3k rpm) window motor, tank get 3/4 filled.
but besides that car was driven 1 winter only, drives well, highway mileage is awesome for the class but cant say the same for city driving, always driven triptronic.
it seems like if maintained well and there is no factory type faulty stuff, these cars can easily take long haul kms, but ontario roads are crap so going through replacement of rods, bearings, bushings, it is normal to expect.
besides the newer cars have so much electronic stuff it makes our cars look pretty analog. my buddy has a new 328i at 40k, and already gone through tranny change, tires pressure sensors going bad constantly, valve errors and many other electronic malfunctions, given these conditions i would rather keep my G till it collapse (besides the value is around 15-17k) then getting a 30-40k newer cars, since maintaining my 98k/km G is cheaper

186,xxx on my 03.5 sedan 6mt
-had a lifter go out around 70k so i pulled the heads, installed cams, heads were gone through and replaced all valve guides.
-just had my dif seal go out, so i'm shopping for a VLSD to swap out
-radiator started leaking and just replaced with a koyo
other than that just regular maintenance all the time
still pulls hard, when i dyno'd it the guys where impressed because of the milage.

I hear you, I'm in the same boat.... I switched in a full kenwood navi unit/bluetooth/ipod, etc.... so that'll fill my electronics needs for now however I had to since the stock head unit started to malfunction...
but I keep looking at pre-owned 335i and old m3s, so sweet!
