Red face Whats a Fair Price for 2006 Coupe 100K?

Hey guys,

First off, let me apologize for starting another one of "these" threads. I know I'm being a PITA by starting this thread; but I am hoping to get some friendly Canadian advice out of it.

So I'll get right into it. I've been lurking the boards for nearly 6 months now and searching Autotrader/CL/Kijiji pretty much daily hoping to find the right car but I think I may have finally found it. I went for a test drive last weekend and loved it. I've test driven 5 coupes in the past 2-3 months but this one felt the best and most natural.

Here are the specs:
2006 G35 Coupe - Lazer Red - Aero Package
100KMs (I'm assuming winter driven...)
Ext: 9/10
Claim in July of 2009 for hail damage (~$3,400 probably explains why the ext paint is in such good condition)
Int: 10/10. No rips/stains/tears...etc
No Navigation
New(ish) tires: probably 80% left
Brake pads seemed pretty beefy
Moonroof/Spoiler
AC Blows Cold
Window motors work fine
Bose Audio

I'm just curious to see what you guys think the fair value is for this vehicle; it'll probably help me with my offer. The car is located in the GTA. I don't want to provide you with the asking price just yet in case it influences your answer( s ).

Any answer/help/advice/tip is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

p.s. Is 100KMs too high for an 2006?

The mileage tells me the owner loved to drive the G. IMO, If it was taken care of that's not too much. My 04 had 160 on the clock. Seems 23 grand might fly, but I . GLWP

i wouldnt say 23k is a great deal. i would say 21.5K or less would be a good deal

I got my 2004 6mt last year with 86K for 18.5K

it would be nice to know the price, but when you are over 100k the re-sale price is gonna go down drastically, anyways, i think it should not be more than 20. by the way is it auto or 6mt?

cause i know 125km 2006 was selling in for 18k besides the winter is coming so the prices adjust lil bit lower.

20.950 for manual im guessing 19000 for 5at.

good luck with the sale

i was assuming it was 6mt cause i dont see why anyone would buy anything else

but you know what, i revise my previous estimate

i didnt really account for how much the claim for hail damage is going to affect the resale value. most people would be afraid of buying anything with a claim that high

6mt --> $20.5K or less
AT --> $19K or less

Jwrape, was that rebuilt or salvaged? if not, then the selling must have been on some serious drugs and you got a great deal

LOL! , Not Salvage. It had been slightly repaired on the rear drivers quarter panel but you can only tell because he told me and the sticker is missing inside the door jam. The rest of the car looks perfect. No Car Fax history that even shows it, just him telling me.

I got a steal! LOL! It was a good time to buy and he needed to get rid of it. He started with it at $18k and kept reducing it every week.

This is the exact car lol. Thanks for all the replies guys. For those of you too lazy to click the link; asking price is $20,900. Seems to be pretty fair; although I'll probably offer $19,500-$20,000 just to see what he says.

Thanks for all the help. If all goes well you can expect to see me at some upcoming meets.

I'd deal hard and well below 20k, maybe start at 18.5...a sport/luxury car is a hard sell in (nearly) October in Canada. You're doing the guy a HUGE favour by taking it off his hands, LOL! Plus it has been hail damaged and so the paint will never be quite as good as factory.

my friend just picked up an 06 with 50,000km for 24k from a local car dealer. i think you can get him way below 20k if its a private sale. and like swivel said sports cars dont sell in fall/winter. he will sit on it all winter if you dont buy it.

plus now he has to pay hst on that car, that's gonna take a big chuck of extra money

plus it's coming to winter time so the price should def be lower than 20K, the guy is pricing it for summer
