Any Victoria B.C. 6mt coupe owners who have had oil consumption test?

I start mine on wednesday with campus nissan. Just wondering how well they handled this bull**** situation. Also are they gonna ask for oil change receipts?

I'm not in Victoria... but...

I'm just about finished the first phase of the test. I'm going to take a photo of it before I bring it in. Ken and I aren't exactly seeing eye-to-eye so I hope that doesn't effect anything.

Had some work done at Campus Nissan- and found them to be quite cooperative with the rear axle clicking. Talked to a guy at the counter named Mike (can't remember his last name.) If you call in and ask for Mike and they say "which one?" just say the older one. He was very helpful to me and helped get my clicking fixed through warranty. Okay, granted it didn't get done (I had aftermarket wheels on and they didn't have the adapter)- but he assured me it would be a warranty job.

Admittedly, different work type- but I did find him to be accommodating and professional.

Give him a try and let us know how you make out. A couple of us Vic G drivers will have to meet up one day! There's at least one more guy in here too...

I'd like to hear about that one. I'm not familiar with the test, is it not entirely objective?

I'm assuming you took it to Hyatt? What was the process and did they want to charge you for things? I'd like to get this started as well as I'm 90% certain I have it, unfortunately.

You can send PM if you prefer.

The test is documented in TSB ITB08-002c found here: http://x.infinitihelp.com/forum/loca...php?linkid=878

It's fair enough and easy enough for a person to evaluate on their own.

Hyatt was hinting at refusing me warranty service because I didn't follow their specific instructions when filling out the past two surveys. I don't know if he can do that legally. Anyway, that's a topic for another thread at another time.

There is no charge if your car is under warranty. To kick it off, I told them I wanted an oil consumption test because I felt it was using too much oil, nothing on the stick with about 2,000 klicks left before the scheduled change.

Sorry Phu... no receipts needed. They will change the oil to start the test so they have a baseline. They will take photos of the dipstick and ask you to come back in 3,000 kilometers. See the TSB I linked above.

I had my engine replaced last spring because of this problem and now the new engine is consuming oil :@ since then I have installed a couple mods ( hks exhaust, test pipes, and intake), do you guys think that the dealer would refuse me warranty because of this?

I don't think that any of those mods would affect your oil consumption... I know the last dealer I talked to about my rear axle clicking problem said my mods would have had nothing to do with it so the warranty would stick. But that was the 3rd dealer I talked to. Seems to depend on who you talk to... Unfortunately consistency isn't always warranteed.

Can't imagine anything from the heads back could be considered a problem, but a picky stealer might say an intake doesn't give the same filtration as the OE setup.

This thread is another reason why I more and more every day HATE Nissan. I have this issue as well. I'm off warranty, but my car hasn't even rolled 70,000 kms. I made an attempt to see if Infiniti would even begin to help me. I was first given the runaround by hyatt, who then turned me to Infiniti Canada. Who then turned me back to hyatt. See where I'm going with this. Of course there's a bit more to it than that, but I don't need to bore any of you more than I have. Needless to say, noone was going to help me that day, and noone will now. If you have a vq with an oil consumption problem without warranty, you should probably start accepting the fact you may be married to your car.
