My Oil Consumption Experience

So I just got back from my 1st 1000km check up. I checked the oil myself before going in. I found the oil was at half, between L and H. That was only after 1000kms! Anyways, they wrote down it was 5ml on the dip stick, and they added 500ml to top it up. I call bull on that. They want me to come back after another 1000kms. I'm starting to get worried that they're gonna drag this on past my warranty. My car is an 05, I'm the second owner, don't know when the car was purchased. The 6 years must be coming up soon though.

Phu, sorry to hear it. I read mine at 18mm, they measured it at 15mm.
I think 1000 km isn't nearly enough distance. Its supposed to be a minimum of 1000 miles or about 1,600 km. Don't go back until you have 3000 km on it.
And take a photo. The dealership should have photos as well, ask to see theirs.

I think the car would be way too dangerously low on oil after 3000kms. And I can't top it up because nissan has to see and record it. I think after 1 month-1000kms and having an oil reading at the half way mark seems excessive. I guess I'll just have to drive the **** out of the G for another 1000kms.

But that's the whole point. 1000km is clearly not enough. Maybe 2500 or something.
Update on my car: I was supposed to get it back on Friday (tomorrow) but it has been delayed to Monday or Tuesday. They tell me that had to send the heads out to get the valve seals redone. Not sure why, they tell me that it's part of the job as per Nissan/Infiniti.
Apparently the oil is blowing past the rings and through the valves?

I hope my post will help. I just went through the oil consumption test/issue with flying colors.
My 06G 6MT was switched over to Mobile1 about a month after I bought it. As soon as I changed over the oil consumption started. I went to the dealer and started the test. Over 1000 miles the car used 3 quarts of oil (don't know the conversion) which barely showed on the dipstick.
They saw this and immediately ordered the new block. When they got it in they called my brother (I'm in Afghanistan) and started the process. It took a total of about 2-3 days and gave my brother a loaner car for that time. He just got the car back and so far so good, we will see in 1200 miles how things are going to go with this new block. Hopefully everything will be fine.
As for the mods I had on my car when I took it in, I had the K&N drop in, Z-Tube and HR Y-Pipe. They didn't give me any trouble at all. While they were in there I had them replace the clutch. There was going to be a $50.00 charge for some reason, but since I was going to be reimbursed for the initial oil change they did I had them take it out of that.
Over all I wouldn't worry about it. The process went smoothly for me, they understood my situation with not being there and made it easy to have the work done. I would just take off any mods that will throw a flag and take the car to them. You shouldn't have any issues.

I have deduced that the only way to truly fix the problem is to remove it. I can't point you to specific members, but my eyes have grazed several remarks involving repeat offences on warrantied pieces from Nissan. My comment being aimed at the fact you can't polish a turd. One day I hope to relieve my own car of the French Nissan engine, to be replaced with something far more primal and adept to putting a **** eating grin on my face.

I have take mine in for the first consumptions test they told me to bring in back at 1000km, they also said I would need receipts of all of the oil changes since car was new if they were going to do anything, does this sound right?, how are you supposed to get those if you are the second owner of the vehicle?
