How Safe Is the G35c?

Guys today I really [censored] my pants. of course the roads were wet etc. anyhow I accelerated to a speed of about 80/h and than while driving, my car fish tailed like crazy..basically the back and the two tires gave away and the rear literaly moved side to side 1-2 feet. Scared the [censored] out of me. Is this normal? I mean I have great tires on the car, i just dont think a car of this nature should easily lose control. It eventually grabbed the road, and there I continued driving. I thought my car was going to flip man! Has anyone ever experienced this before?

Welcome to "rear wheel drive". Imagine how much fishtailing happens when you twin turbo your car like I have done.

Just learn to drive smooth with a rear-wheel drive car with as much power as ours. Don't make any abrupt throttle changes, unless you want to bring the rear out, and you'll be fine.

A high performance driving school may give you some pointers. When it starts to snow, I suggest you take the car to a large empty parking lot, and let loose a little, just so you know how the car acts when it starts to slide, that way, when it happens again on the road, you won't scare yourself again.

Leave VDC on too. Its almost impossible to bring that car around if you're driving prudently with the VDC on.

The G is probably one of the safest rides on the road today bro. What makes it more difficult to control is rear drive.
To counteract that difficulty is the VDC (vehicle dynamic control) system on our G's which probably saved your butt.
Take it easy on slippery roads.

I would think everyone that has owned a RWD vehicle has experienced what you describe. If they haven’t, they will.

Rear wheel drive is great but it has it disadvantages in our Canadian climate. You cannot accelerate on slipper/icy/snowy roads or you will fish tail. FWD is far superior for poor road conditions because it always pulls and will straighten out your car.

RWD is so much more fun on dry roads so it is a trade off and has it’s advantages but it can be dangerous.

Good tires and a little extra weight in the trunk will help but you need to change your driving habits with RWD
