I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for but this is a decent forum (canadian business) to learn and capture some ideas to start your research from. The banks and investment firms also have their own sites of course where you can research. Google and yahoo finance have decent sites, mostly from a US perspective. If you google search you'll get all kinds of different forums and investor info sites but most are US- which might be fine if that's where you're looking to invest.

No, US as well. You'll need to set up an account at a brokerage. Do your homework starting on that Canadian business forum where you can learn the basics and more, set up a practice account first before investing since it sounds like you're a rookie.
