LED is the future

Found this article interesting.

Nissan/Infiniti isn't listed in the article, but I have a feel they will soon follow:

Personally I hope they don't.

I'm already really tired of the companies that have the LED style headlights. When Audi came out with them they were fantastic and new but now they you can find them on everything from KIA to Lexus to Porsche.... I don't want to see them anymore.

It's bad enough every jackass ricer in town with either a civic or a run down E36 bought ebay ligths and taped them onto their bumper for the "audi" look.

I loved them when they were first out. Now with ricers and economy cars sporting them the love is gone.

I love LED's myself (bright/long life), you just have to find interesting and clean ways to use them. Having said that.. Yes, there are a lot of cheap/junky looking applications out there. And of course, the more makes/models that have these lights, the less unique they are.

But don't worry too much.. the luxury brands will come up with something new/fancy for their cars (which will then get copied again).
-I'm thinking laser beams!!

I agree. Audi did it right. Everyone else- wrong. Okay- not wrong but like you guys said. That was innovative and looks sharp. These other ones... Meh.

Properly used and integrated fine, especially brake and running lights. Signal lights seem too abrupt with LEDs but are far more visible and eye catching. Fairy lights around the headlights a la Audi - meh, done to death.

I've systematically removed every one the PO put on my sled. Couldn't stand the colour, flicker, dimness and poor fit.

LED is the future for all lighting. Its the most efficient type, just not yet most cost efficient to produce. Electrical wholesalers are starting to stock it, and with any luck it will nudge out the compact fluorescent GARBAGE in the coming years.

Oh yeah, we as the consumer wont be able to buy incandescent lighting soon, so you folks better start stocking up. Unless you want **** all over yourself and buy compact fluorescents (the twirly light bulbs).

CFLs. Don't get me started. I have a lifetime supply of good old tungsten lamps for home...

So true, reminds me of those led's people used to put on their washer fluid nozzles on the hood, or even those leds on the tire valve caps.
