My family and I have been in Cape Breton for almost a week now and we head home in the morning. My wife's Grandmother owns a summer house in Englishtown on Cape Breton Island and we've been staying there this past week. For reasons unknown, I haven't been to Cape Breton since I was a little kid. It's truly a beautiful part of Canada, and since it's only a 7 hour drive from home, I've vowed to go back there regularly.

Originally, the plan was for the whole family to to take the Edge. I was tempted to take the S2000 (for Cabot Trail reasons) and follow behind my wife, but it seemed a little unnecessary to take two vehicles. Literally minutes before we left on Saturday morning, my daughter kept asking me to take the S2000 (or "top down car" as she calls it). I ended changing my mind at the last moment and took the S2000 as well. ;D

My wife and I did the entire Cabot Trail run on a beautiful sunny day in the S2000 with the top down. Once I got on the Trail, it didn't take me long to regret bringing it. Man o man, carving out those twisties along the Cabot Trail was a LOT OF FUN in the S2000. It was some very nice "spirited" driving and absolutely gorgeous scenery.

For any members here traveling to the east coast for vacation, I would highly recommend visiting Cape Breton.

Awesome Shane. Great decision with the S2000.

The family looks great.

The Cabot Trail is incredible.... but being a resident Nova Scotian and making between 20 and 25 visits there I might be a little biased.

She is a 7 year old Golden Retriever/Nova Scotia Duck Toller mix. I've had dogs my entire life and she is hands down the best dog I've ever had.

Great Pics Shane, thanks for sharing. I intend to drive out to the east coast for the last two weeks of August with the Family (in the G35x of course). I'm 45 and the last time I was east I was 3 (and apparently a pain in the **** as I was quite sick). Looking forward to the trip already and these great pictures have me wishing I could leave tomorrow. My daughter Emily just turned 8 and looks about the same age as your daughter. Any 'must see' places I shouldn't miss? Thanks again!
