Go Leafs Go.

I can't wait for the season to begin. I'm really hoping the Leafs can hopefully somehow crack a top 8 spot this year. I don't think any of the recent acquisitions are substantial enough to say that the team is better this year vs. last - but I'm hopeful that Reimer is the real deal and can steal an extra dozen points of so for us as #1 starter.

In Jets related news, I was in Winnipeg/Kenora a couple weeks ago and the buzz in and around the city is phenomenal. Tickets for the home opener are selling to 10x face value - which is saying alot for a city who's population is only slightly over 600,000. I tried to buy a hoodie while I was there but all of the official merchandise was still sold out... The arena is Winnipeg is pretty small - both in terms of seating capacity and leg room. They really did their best to cram as many seats in the little areana as possible. The atmostphere at Winnipeg home games is bound to be nuts.

What teams will you be cheering on this year?
-I'm ever faithful to the Leafs in the East. I also have family in Winnipeg so it'll be fun to cheer them on too.
-In the West, I've always followed Chicago...but I have a feeling they are going to have a bad year. I don't like the Carcillo signing at all...

Come on you bums, training camps start in September what does everyone think of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins or as locals say RNH is he going to make the oil? Or will he help us win a world junior gold? I would like to see him play in Edmonton but if he stays in RedDeer I might have to watch him light it up there.

I think RNH is in tough; I don't see him as physically ready to handle the NHL. I think the Oil would be better off giving him another year in junior. Although there will be plenty of pressure to get the next savior into the lineup right away.

IF Reimer is the real deal and Connolly by some miracle does miss a bunch of time, then I think the Leafs could squeeze into a playoff spot.

I think if Reimer is the real deal they WILL make the playoffs.
Many teams throughout history that have had a goalie play a full, consistent season, like Reimer played down the stretch, was not just a playoff contender but a Cup contender.
If he steals 3-4 games and he helps turn some of those 1 goal/OT losses into 1 goal/OT wins, then the Leafs are a lock.

Now Wade Belak found dead. What the hell is going on! 35 years old, what a shame.
R.I.P. Wade, you were a player fun to watch.

Who watched the Pens- Isles on CBC last night? Should I say, who watched the Sidney Crosby show?
Glad to see the Kid back in the line-up and apparently no worse for the wear.
Great for him, his team and the league.

Maybe with Sid back, Ovy will wake the hell up. He always likes competing (stats wise) against Sid. He was awful to watch (until late in the 3rd), Saturday night, against the Leafs. Just sad.

I missed it, but caught the highlights.
IDK if he was playing on adrenalin but he looked fantastic!

+1 on Ovy, he looks terrible.
It would appear that he's not buying what Boudreau is selling.

I figured Crosby should fly for his first 10 games back then level out, he look great last night.

Nugent-Hopkins for the oil is looking great he might be a calder shoe in if he can keep this pace.

The Flames time to blow the team up they suck and are painful to watch. I even get offered free box seats on a regular basis and usually opt out they are so boring to watch
