I think that's a little much don't ya think? We've been in the gold medal game for how many years in a row now.....10 or so? We've had medals I think in the last 14 consecutive world jrs. I find the expectations are too high when it comes to Canadian hockey and that people automatically expect Gold every year. While I would love to see Canada playing for Gold like everyone else, I hardly find it an insult to the Country that they are playing for Bronze.
Playing for bronze wasn't an insult to this country.
Celebrating like they won the stanely cup after their 10th goal against Denmark was an insult to this country.

I don't think there is any question that Canada is a powerhouse when it comes to hockey. But to expect them to be in the finals every year is a little unrealistic IMHO. In these types of tournaments you can play flawless in every single game except for one and that will be the difference between gold or not. The fact that Canada has been in the last 10 gold medal jr games and earning medals in the last 14 world jrs tells me that they are a consistent hockey powerhouse. Again, nothing insulting to the Country as you seem to suggest.
Fully plan to watch both (already watched one). Not to watch Canada play for a medal would be an insult. I just think the gold medal game will be good hockey, and that's reason enough to watch it.

I was at work when the Bronze was on, we have a TV in the kitchen though so i watched as few min, the Gold game....not even interested I could have had free tickets and didn't take them.
I streamed the Canadian game via TSN while at work (minimized of course so I just listened, maximized on screen when I heard a goal scored).
I watched the Championship game too and glad I did. Very happy for Sweden. It was long overdue for them and they surely deserved to win that game. They are a great hockey nation as well.
For those that would rather see Canada win gold or be in the Championship game every year, all I can say is that would be bad for the sport. Great for Canadian moral, sure but there has to be some balance or it will be like the womens hockey in terms of lack of competition.
If the mens hockey was as skewed, competitively speaking, as the womens then I wouldnt watch the tournament until the finals. It wouldn't be long before there is no more tournament. Not very many people would buy tickets or watch on TV (Not including Canadians).
