lol bro is battelgrounds owner your boyfriend or something? I didnt review ANYONES ability- all I said was the owner is shady, 1. for over charging 2. for differentiating price quotes by 17% in a matter of a half hour.

Yet you still have no experience with the shops work!

The one question that answers it all.... Can you name both guys you and your buddy spoke to on the phone?

I don't know any of the guys at Battleground. However, I do stand up for local shops that get called out by someone on the internet with little to no experience dealing with custom shops. I've worked in this business since I was a kid and judging anyone that owns a shop with no experience of their work and no hard facts of them ripping you off is a waste of your time and those who read your half assed review.

All in all....
1. Their pricing is their pricing, if you don't like it go elsewhere. Not a shady move.
2. A price discrepancy via phone (not even a paper quote) really has no validity in anything. If you phoned me and asked me the price of something random and I guessed off the top of my head and later adjusted that price, even if it were seconds after, it still would not be a legit quote!

Anyway, the guy he spoke with for one quoted him $300 to PAINT HIS CALIPERS ... So I figured hey maybe hes bleeding all the brakes and doing one hell of a paint job right? So I call BGP myself and ask how much it would be to have my calipers painted, for one right off the bat he said $250 so that instantly shouted scam to me, and then when I asked him if they bleed the brakes when they remove the caliper this guy got confused and started stuttering hes like what do you mean? -_- WTF? So I asked again, do you guys not bleed the brakes? And hes like yeah yeah we do that. So long story short, my take is this _sshole paints the damn caliper while its on the car and charges people for no good reason. So think twice about going there lol buyer and customers beware!
Ok.. Lets look at my original post.

I have the right to my opinion and the right to post it- first off I outlined the large fluctuation in price for an identical job. Second I pointed out that the person I spoke with did not know what bleeding brakes where. Based on those two points I warned every one to reconsider whether or not they should go there. I did not once mention the shops ability to do work they can all be master mechanics for all i know or care, but my point is... the guys who work there must be painting calipers while there on cars, and that sir is not worth 300$ ... now id really like to stop justifying why I started this thread and furthering this never ending loop of criticism. Please stop complaining about the thread, and if you dont like it dont read it.

I've read your original post a few times and:
- you don't say weather or not the brakes are the same for both your and your friends car. Not really too relevant but could make a bit of difference.
- you don't mention the person who your friend spoke to and if the person you spoke to are the same guy. Two independent quotes and a possible error by one or the other.
- $50 difference is not much for a verbal quote, over the phone, for custom work.
- charging $250 to $300 to paint 4 calipers is not expensive, if done well, even if they don't take them off the car. If they did remove them from the vehicle I would expect it to cost more than $300.
- your 'take' on their process is nothing more than an assumption since you have never actually had them work on your car.

Your original post is unwarranted
And no, I don't know anyone from BGP.

You're right op- you're entitled to your opinion. However by your own admission in your first post you don't often start threads- and we see why.

In your words YOU thought we should all hear this... We obviously don't share this opinion. WE are ALSO entitled to OUR opinion with or without your consent and I'm quite certain that everyone who reads this thread will quite contentedly voice their opinion of your thread and of your reasons for creating it.

Second... your subjective interpretation of why the guy stuttered when you asked him if you bleed the brakes after asking for a quote to have calipers painted doesn't warrant the car community unleashing the dogs of war. Just because that's the ONE thing that you think needs to happen throughout the process of prepping and painting a single part of the car- doesn't mean that's the ONLY thing going through the mind of the guy who has to listen to you. I don't think these guys are caliper painting specialists... hell- the guy at the desk may have been the panel painting specialist... the caliper painting specialist may have been in the john lubricating his splines over photos in the last men's fitness magazine.

He could have just as easily been wondering what idiot would ask about bleeding brakes because OF COURSE they bleed them when they remove them to be painted. He may have been distracted by a gorgeous woman who walked into the shop... he may have been going through the motions of putting his fingers in the shape of a gun and blowing his brains out as he talked to you to the amuzement of one of his work associates- which is what it seems we're all doing as we scroll through this thread and your justification for it. Unfortunately, they don't have that smiley here. If they did, I would post it here.

One guy could have been including taxes, and the other guy not. 13 percent on 250 would put it at 282 which if you're paying that at the till after having been quoted 300 PROBABLY won't cause you to write another complaint thread about them. Unless you got quoted 250 and end up paying 282 at the till... then you have to REWRITE this thread to complain about the OTHER guy in the shop. (insert blowing brains out smiley)

Additionally you have NO experience with the services, NO knowledge of their level of skill... and apparently no INTEREST in substantiating anything you've said short of saying some guy on the phone had poor linguistic skills. This poor guy MAY have a speech impediment that you declare means he is stupid and / or unprofessional.

I take great offense to that public attack on that poor guy who is probably just sitting in there doing the best he can trying to make ends meet- working full time and trying to get through intense regimens of speech therapy on his time off while unbeknowst to him he's being helplessly ridiculed in the G35 forums by some "dude" who was trying to make sure his boyfriend didn't get ripped off.

You "SIR" should be ashamed for this senseless personal attack.

Im not going to sit here and type out an essay defending myself from all those personal attacks you made to me. Regardless of what you think he may have been doing from the tone of voice and the way he replied I could tell he had no idea what bleeding brakes where. That and a fluctuation in price quotation within an hour for an identical job and car is shady to me. My friend has his own shop and wouldnt charge anywhere near that to me maybe thats why I felt that quote to be so outrageous. None the less, if you guys dont like this thread thats up to you lol. Ive said it again and again, the reason for this was to look out for other G owners in return you guys are all going off on me take it easy just trying to help in my own way.
