Need recom for place to check rims before buying on Kijiji in Miss.

Looking at some 19" rays with 235/35/19 all round. They seem in reasonable condition and the tires are supposedly "New", but an off brand. Indy suggested that I get the rims checked at a rim shop. Anyone have any suggestions for one near Erin Mills and Brittania?

Thanks Arthur,
As I think this through ...... Would a tire place be able to tell me if the rim was bent or cracked without taking off the tire? Don't want to spend a c note on checking the balance on 4 wheels that were supposedly "just balanced" before they were taken off. Frig, why doesn't someone here have what I want. Hate to deal with Kijiji for big $.

The guys at tires23 are pretty solid, they can give you a pretty good estimation of the internal condition of the wheels. 90% of cracks are on the visible exterior of the wheel. Backs of the barrels or the spokes would be the most likely location of damage.

But getting them balanced before buying them is a great idea to make sure they are all structurally sound and the tires don't have thrown belts.

Thanks Blain, do you know if I could run the 235/35/19 on the coupe? Otherwise, it may be wise to have the tires dismounted and then the rims checked.

As I mentioned via PM, you can run the 235 no problem, it's just a fair bit smaller than the OEM spec.

Decided to pass. Too many hassles and they'd need to be refinished anyways. Thanks to everybody for their input.

That's excellent Blain. So, the next set you come across might be for me then?

Do you like 18" Enkei Racing RPF1 or PF01? Similar to OEMs and light as a feather.

Thanks for expanding my horizons Paul. I did a quick search to see what they looked like and they seem nice. For some reason, I just feel OEM is the way I want to go ...... but am gonna keep these in mind as well as add them to my list.
I'm in no hurry as spring is still at least 4 months away.

Did a quick search on Kijiji and found these Paul. Not bad looking and reasonable prices as well.
Hmmmmm, decissions, decissions. I know how good the OEM 19's look on the G and these I have to picture.

Mind you I've got 12 18" tires hanging around ( not counting my winter setup ), so staying at 18" would save $.

If you don't go with 18's, I would wait for a 19's for a summer set up, I think it looks a lot nicer. I am a big fan of the G37 19's but they are a little harder to find.

I like the look of the 19's also, but don't want to spend an additional $800 to refinish a set, and I have sooooo many useable 18's that I'd have to sell/trade/give away. Hassle mania.

Road trip to Buffalo?

I love Pauls idea. High end enkeis aren't even worth a fortune either!

And Sam, I can refinish wheels for you for far less than $800!

I'll definitely keep my eye out for a clean set of Coupe 19s.
