STILL waiting for my 05 G35

Has anyone ordered an 05 G35 sedan around late November/early December 04 and are still waiting for delivery? My dealer has told me that it's still on a rail car somewhere between Manitoba and Toronto. Was just wondering what the average wait times from factory should be. What's really bothering me is that it seems really difficult for my dealer to track the vehicle! Thanks!

Well if you know your car is on rail from Van your good to go. Check it out real good when you get it and be sure everything is tip top.

We ordered our G in early November. They located one that met our specs and it was already at sea, they switched cars on that shipment that were coming to their dealership so we would get that one. They gave us the VIN number then. It arrived in Toronto from the west coast and I wouldn't let them drive it to Guelph (they were going to do this cause it would save a couple of days), I told them to ship it, I would wait an extra couple of days. In the end we picked it up on Dec.7th.

Gting, it's a Ivory Pearl/Stone combination, automatic RWD, premium package. No aero, no navi, no wood.

Sorry if I sound paranoid, but not being able to tell me the exact location of my vehicle and when it will arrive at the dealer is a little disconcerting to me! And once it does arrive at the dealer, what is the average time to complete PDI etc?

Once my car arrived at the dealer , it took about 4 days to do all the checks, install winter rims and tires , do 3m chipguard, get window tint applied, scotchguard and install 4 splashguards. It depends what extras you are getting.

i just picked up my '05 coupe last friday. it came in thursday night... and i was driving it at 4:00pm the next day. i only had them mount winter tires and rims. they also had a few sedans come in. i ordered mine mid december. my dealer was also vague on the delivery date... except for the fact that he told me before the end of the month. i was skeptical at first... but to my surprise it actually came in.

I just got a surprise call from my dealer today that my will be ready for pickup on Wednesday. From no news to an actual pickup date, I couldn't be happier. Now I can move on to actually talking about the car!

Has anyone used the MP3 capability on the 05 G35? I'm wondering if it is worth tagging my MP3 files (ID3 tags) .. will they display on the head unit? I asked my dealer and he has no clue what ID3 tags are. When I testdrove the car I didn't test the MP3 player...

works pretty good for the most part. some things i've noticed:
-burning a cd with all the songs in the root menu causes problems for me. the player seems to keep searching for songs but won't play.
-if i burn the same songs ... but separate them with different folders (ie... i used A-D, E-H, etc..) the cd would works fine.
-also, if u use folders... u can skip through them with some of the unit buttons (i found that pretty convenient).
-the display button allows u to toggle between some pretty neat display modes. it will allow u to cycle through the filename and id3 tags.
-overall i've found it to work really well... i'm just dissapointed in the sound the stereo outputs. the harmon kardon my wife had in our cooper s put this stereo to shame.
-something else i've noticed (wondering if others experience this) if i krank the base up to max (+5 i think) the stereo will outpout less bass than +4. seems like the unit is cutting off the sound or something.

...sorry for the ramble... all in all i give the actual unit a thumbs up. i think the sound can be corrected with some new aftermarket speakers... so no biggy there.

i've been listening to my old ipod through a cassette adaptor on my 97 acura... so almost anything is an upgrade!

only one more day of waiting !!

I just picked up my Silverstone 05 6mt sedan an hour ago. Ordered Dec 4. Dealer called Thursday to say it was there...I was surprised coz original time frame being mentioned was late Feb or March. It's been 10 yrs since I drove a stick predominantly. Funny how everything comes back to you....it's gonna be fun. I can tell off the bat that the power is just awesome...
