Osiris in GTA - Where to go?

My engine mods are done (unfortunately), so it's now time for an Orisis tune. On the Uprev site I noticed there are now 3 places in the Toronto area that offer this service; Advance Power House, OnPoint and DynaMotorsport.... which one do I choose and why??

I have an '07 Coupe 6MT with Mrev2, 5/16 copper & Z-tube (with Amsoil filter). I'm looking to get a custom tune with maps for performance, security, economy and stock. Any advice is appreciated

You're doing a tune with a z tube, Mrev2 and a spacer?

That's ambitious. Any chance you haven't purchased the tune license already?

With those mods and on an 07 there really isn't that much difference between a dyno tune and etuning with datalogs and the cable yourself, plus you'll save a bunch of money in the long run. I'll send you a PM

I was heavily considering HFC & Y-pipe as good bang-for-the-buck exhaust mods, however I decided against because I didn't want only part of my exhaust opened up and the associated exhaust note changes that go along with that (the stock exhaust note on the G is really the last thing I want to change).

Most people on here say a stock G could benefit from a tune, I'm not sure why you questioning why I want a tune with my intake mods, even though they are relatively minor? I also want Osiris for the features it can provide like better throttle response, interchangable maps for security, economy, etc.

OP in this thread (friend of mine) got tuned with just a Z-tube and high flow air filter. It makes a difference.

My mods currently are HR Y-Pipe, MD 5/16 spacer, Z tube and a custom lower plenum from an older non rev-up G. Would it be worth while to tune? Not looking to make a rocket here just something a little more fun to drive and possibly improve fuel economy with the tune aswell.

I decided to get Osiris and went with dyno over eTune to ensure I squeezed everything I could and to validate my results - and I'm kinda glad I did.

Mods on my 2007 G35 Coupe 6MT are:
- Mrev2
- 5/16 copper spacer
- Z-tube with Amsoil filter

Is a 230hp base with these mods "normal" and is a 13hp gain with a dyno tune "good"? (Note: One of the dyno pulls showed 244hp, hence why I'm rounding up to a +13hp gain).

Other than my results (attached) being OK, I'm also disappointed that when I inquired about an economy map and adjusting the throttle body (for better/smoother throttle response) he was not familiar with this and no adjustments were made.

The guy that did my tune was great and did seem like a very experienced dyno tuner with many different vehicles, including some previous G tunes that were on his computer. However after probably 2+ hrs and ~15 pulls I seem a bit disappointed with these results... should I be?

NYT,
I have the same model/year as yours and I would be dissapointed for sure.
I'm about to take the plunge and get a Osiris Dyno tune (not sure where yet) but at $700+ to get 13hp sounds insane to me.

My mods are:
Stillen intake
Iridiums plugs
Mrev2
1/2 spacer
Motordyne TDX2 full exhaust (no ART pipes)

Send me a PM with your contact if you dont mind, I have few other questions I want to run by you since you already did the tune here in the GTA.
Cheers!

You can get pretty much the same results from datalogging/ reflashing yourself at home with the $500 osiris standard option, plus you get the cable so you can reflash back to.stock later on if you.ever need to. I know a bit about this.. Feel free to pm me if you have any osiris questions

Thanks Seymore,

I was thinking along those lines too but I kept hearing that the Dyno tune method is way better than the datalogging one. But after seen that guy's dyno tune gains....I gotta say Im not impressed.
I would love to have a chat if you have sometime...send me a PM with your number and I'll call you.
