Grease Streak on Windows
Grease Streak on Windows
Re: G35C. Has anyone in Canada got grease streaks on the driver's side window after you roll the window down and then up? I have on mine and I have read that this problem exists on U.S. cars and there is a technical service bulletin (TSB) on it. I got the TSB from the fresh alloy site. I called my dealer and service dept. and they do not know of it and any Canadian TSB. Does anyone else have this problem and has the problem been fixed?
Re: Grease Streak on Windows
NO .. mine does not have it
I made a point to check it out before I took delivery...
I haven't seen the TSB on this
here's a link for all to date TSB's

Attached is the U.S. TSB. It applies to cars built before Mar 17-03

I have got it on my coupe. I've had it into Doner twice to fix it. It still is a problem. A bit on the passenger side too. They had the inside door panel off, cleaned up the roller, but it keeps coming back.

Once the guides (rolers) get 'greased' they're junk and should be replaced.
I've got the issue too, but I'm gonna take the panel off myself and replace the guides.
Since there is a USA TSB, I'd think the dealership would use it to service any Canadian cars with the same issue. It has to be warranty anyway. Go after them.

That particular issue is a warranty item, we have ordered some of these "guides" and we are planning to replace one soon, I'll let you know how it goes. The whole process can be a pain in the butt, as the door finisher comes off, then the actual metal panel also comes off, to access the felt guides. Will report soon.

I'm surprised by the exacting intolerance we G owners exhibit. Had streak, ignored it for a couple months, it went away. Recommend using your fob to open the windows on your way out to the car. That's just plain fun. Also recommend using the "frustration energy" to get wound up about a real problem like the rattling seat belt mount
