Front Plate

OK...before I go to the cops or the ministry, I thought I asked my fellow G drivers in Ontario.

Is it mandatory to have the front plate on the car? If so, is there a way around it?

From what I know, it is but I'm not sure 'cause I never really considered removing it before.

Thanks.

I heard a while ago that Ont. might make a change to the front plate issue.
Right now you can be ticketed.
I was warned once in another car.
The plate came off in a car wash (yah I know..... but it was a beater )

FWIW..
There is a plate adapter that you can get that uses the tow hook point instead of drilling the bumper on the '05.

We'd all like to see them axe the front plate. Let's hope that flies.
Trouble is most of us will have holes to fill in our front bumbers....

I'll deal with that. Let's get rid of the plate.
C.

I agree.

You don't need it for a motorcycle so why do we have to have it on our cars?????

Thanks Ian...I went by the police station to check and they said it is mandatory for now.

As for the plate adapter, I believe that's what I got from the dealer. My old '03 front plate sat flush in the bumper so it didn't bother me as much. I just have to get used to it until the law changes.

well, the cop said today that front plates left behind at accidents have helped them solve hit and runs. Not sure if that is the real reason for them.

Hi there Chico,
Did you say you got the plate adapter from the dealer? This is for the '05? Which dealer?

I am not 100% sure if this is the adapter. But I know they removed the front tow cover off the bumper to attach it. I will take a better look tomorrow and let you know.

I got my '05 G from 401/Dixie Infiniti.
