Stickers all over the courtesy car....ughhhhhh

I took my 6MT sedan to Hyatt Infiniti today for its 36,000 service. I was thankful to have been provided with a courtesy car (a 2005 G35x) but shuddered at the sight of Hyatt's bold advertising plastered all over the sides of the car - "AWD! 280 hp! G35x! Look at me! Look at me! blah blah blah" - surely this is effective advertising for Infiniti and for the dealership, because during my commute to work I had everyone gawking at my "riced out" courtesy G35x. I imagine they must have all said, what is up with the obnoxious sticker job???".

Stickers aside, this was my first time sitting in a G35x. There were some noticeable changes to the interior vs my '04 - the most notable being the keyless fob - nice touch. I'm still not a fan of the driver's seat. Driving an AT on the commute to work was a dream in the stop-and-go traffic. My left foot and my clutch were able to take a rest for once! On a clearer stretch I tried out the manual mode but am still biased towards my 6MT in the fun department. The AT shifted very smoothly and the 17's overall made for a ride that was more plush than what I am currently used to (Evos w/ 245/45-18's and Eibachs) - not to say that my car has a harsh ride (I don't feel it does), but the lower profile tires and aftermarket springs do give up a few points in terms of ride comfort compared to a stock G.

Anway, this was my first time needing a courtesy car from the dealership, but I would have thought that they would opt for a more classy approach with subtle stickering instead of 500 pt fonts all over the dang car! In your face advertising at its best! ha ha ha

Haha, It's almost like they're trying to discourage borrowing loaners.

Tell them about it that all you wanted was a car, not a billboard on wheels.
It might sway them to tone it down somewhat.
Maybe
Colin.

Oh man, I wish I had my digital camera with me. Fortunately, my car is ready so I will be returning it this afternoon, and can thus end my humiliation. Sheesh, if I had to drive around with that hideous looking billboard all weekend I would sooner slit my wrists!!! Aarghhhhhhh!

Hahaha, Next time tell them you'd rather drive an Acura than drive something embarrassing.

I had an '05 sedan loaner last week here in Halifax with no advertising on it. It had 18's and the keyless too. i was impressed with it. Much softer ride and much quieter on road noise than my 04 6mt coupe.

Truly vomit-inducing

I didn't have a camera but I did use my amateur photoshop skills to concoct what unfortunately is a pretty close replica of what the courtesy car looked like. I thought it was rather corny that they had to advertise on the side of such a classy car that it had 280 hp. Jeez, I needed all 280 of that hp to escape from the disgusted stares of my fellow commuters!

I have never been so thankful to get back into my own car! ha ha ha

The horror! The horror!

Yuck!

Man, I'd have to think carefully about the benefits of driving the loaner if it looked like that! More befitting a Ford Escort loaner or something, but an embarassment for anything priced over a domestic econo-box! It would even be embarrasing on a Honda Civic.

Hyatt should be ashamed, and it's customers should let them know!

I agree Gord, and hopefully their customers will let them know. I know that I would be quite reluctant about driving a loaner with that advertising all over it.

Man oh man Joel, I see what you mean. How could they do that to such a car and how does that make you feel with the "Infiniti Experience" when you have to take that billboard home. I honestly think I would flatly refuse to drive a loaner that has been defaced like that .

That's pretty bad for a nameplate like Infiniti. I wonder who had that brainstorm.
