Okay if there is a paint defect in the car is it cover by nissian warranty? I discover this yesterday that there seems to be water mark on my car but looking it closely it looks like when they paint my car it drip some paint on the finish. Now it looks like 2 streaks of water mark.

 

Dunno I have a small run on my hood, but I never mentioned anything to the dealer. Chances are they would just patch fix it which would make it look worse!

 

Eric, Depending how severe that is, you may or may not want to fix it, as Diesel1 suggests.
Have the dealer's body shop look at it and get his opinion on weather they will repaint, or just patch.
It also may be something on or near the surface which may be buffed out, thereby not showing so much of a repair.

FYI I had my whole front end repainted on my previous vehicle (2002 Sentra SER Spec-V) b/c of cheap paint from the manufacturer. I had about 200 tiny paint chips on my hood in the first 6months. Just ask and they may just do it for you too. :-)

 

for sure is not something i can buff it out with an orbital wax because i tried. is two streak at first you think is water mark but is definately paint drip.

 

If you think it's that bad, take it back to the dealer and tell them you're no happy, and to rectify the problem.

Drips and the like should not be typical of a $50k vehicle.

Well orbitals are great for detailing, but not for paint finishing. It is likely depending on the defect that the shop would wet sand the drips out and possibly reclear that portion or larger area.

In regards to Gsedanman, and drips not being typical of a 50K car, I totally agree but it does happen. I recently say a brand new Maseratti at Detailing Dynamics (high end detailer) and I asked if the front of the car was repainted? The detailer said yes and when I asked how many miles were on the car, he said it's brand new. There was under a 1,000 miles. He said even the ferrari's and lambo's he works on, more often then not, a portion of the car has been repainted after leaving the factory! Now that would pi$$ me off! But I guess $hit happens in transit etc. Again, from a factory paint, it shouldn't happen, but I guess some things pass through the quality control guys!

 

I forgot to specify, this was done under Nissan warranty. Sorry.

 

took it to 401 Dixie and they agree is from the factory, what they are going to do is remove the clear coat of the area and reclear it. Booked an apointment for next wed. and is all cover in the warranty.
