I get 450-480/tank, 15-17 l/100K, driving normally, 99% city. Not too great.

I told him I thought I got about 425 km per tank and that usually a fillup was about 58 litres so I thought my tank was about 60l. We discussed his car getting about that on a 70l tank (and he drives that v8 HARD) and he said a buddy's new TL got 550k per tank. So I looked up the TL's capacity (65l) and then when to Infiniti.ca to check out ours. Imagine my surprise to find out it was 76l! Why does my fuel light come on and a fillup is only 54l? Why would it come on when I have 22 litres left?

So my questions are: Do you wait till the fuel light is on? How many litres is your average fill? Howmany km's per tank? How hard do you drive?

I've found that the G's f/gauges/lights/navi dte's are very optimistic.
On both my Sedan and Coupe I could only pump in about 60 liters of fuel to our 76 liter tanks after the guage fell to E.(long after the low light came on)
After the navi's dte said '****' , I could easily go another 50 clicks depending on speed.

The most I have EVER pumped (with the gauge flatlining and the light having gone on loooooong ago) is 62 litres. It just seems ridiculous to me that there is another 14 litres in the tank.

've been filling up at around the half-way mark lately. psychologically i like to se e the more 'normalized' price number on the pump. i posted my average in a previous thread. i think it was around 34l for half a tank and i was averageing around 11.5l/100. was driving extremely conservatively. i think i hit just under 300 km's on it.

LOL, nice find Wayne. That sure is an appropriate fuel guage these days!!

This week, the price of gas has finally dropped a little. It dropped from 129.9 to 116.9......geez what a steal.

I agree, that the gauges aren't very accurate and should be much more so, but better inaccurate on the optimistic side rather than the alternative.

According to Nissan, running out of fuel in these rides is to be avoided at all costs .

lol, it's a lousy excuse for bad fuel gauges isn't it?

Good one Wayne.....but what about the one for the boat?
Will that one have another zero on each level.? Yikes.

Shane:
WOW!, your price hasn't dropped much there.....Ours has gone down to under $1.00 per liter of regular and now risen back to $1.06 again, but seriously less than what it topped out at back 2 weeks ago ($1.39)

Haha Wayne. Are those numbers adjustable or do they move just one way- up??

OUr prices are the exact same as yours Shane. East Coast mostly always the most expensive and with most people making less money too.

I agree that the fuel gauges should be accurate. I really haven't paid that much attention to them since I usually just fill at the 1/4 remaining mark.
I'll have to start paying some attention to my G.
Virtually all cars are made so that the guages stay on full for a long time and the first half tank is really more like 5/8 or 3/4 of tank so there is a pyschological boost on great fuel mileage.

No worries Deane, the way the gauges are in our G's, when you refill at the 1/4 tank mark, it's actually 1/2 tank and only takes on about 35-40 liters.

At least this way, you'll probably never run out of gas, since you'd have to go for a long while after the gauge reads 'E' b4 running out.

Jason, That's not too bad for mixed city and hwy driving in and around GTA.

That's a tad better than 20 mpg's in a ride not best known for its economy.

Colin.
