Winter Tires..... Help!!!!

Hey ppl, i was wondering will 17" stock rims fit an 05' G35 coupe with sport package. The dealers at agincourt nissan said 17" are bad for your car and won't clear the brakes. And i've been hearing so many different stories about the 17" I need your advice. I want to avoid 18" if i can since 18" rubber are going to bankrupt me...... If you are running on 17" what is your front/rear setup?

Thanks in advance for your help.....

Stan

i'm running 17x7 oem g35 sedan rims with 225/50/17 225/55/17 dunlop M3, yes it will fit on 05. dont ever listen to dealer, and why is 17" bad for the car ? the winter package they sell are 17"
anyhow only thing i've noticed is my steering wheels is lighter compare to oem 19" and cant drive as crazy as i do in summer, when dont really care since winter i cant really drive fast especially when it's snowing.

I've been doing a lot of thread reading on winter tires and have come to the following options:

1) 17" Fast Wheels with Yokohama IG10's 215/55/17
2) 18" MSR Wheels with Blizzak LM22 235/45/18
3) 17" Fast Wheels with Hankook IceBear 225/55/17

I've been told the following:

1) 17" will fit my 05 6MT sport
2) No need to go staggered...will prolong the life of tires.

I'm still soul searching about which rubber to go with (a) Snow and Ice or (b) Winter performance... what are you going with?

I used these last year and was very happy with their performance.
& they were fairly quiet as well.

I've just ordered Dunlop Sport M3's on Tirerack's cheapest 17" alloy wheel. Total, with shipping is under $1100 USD and will be ready for install when it gets here next week.

Yet to pay will be UPS brokerage fee and GST to Canada, but it still should be well below the going rate that shops in my area wanted (was quoted anywhere from $216 to $272 per tire, never even bothered to ask about wheels...)

I had the Toyo Garit HT on my 2k2 Maxima and they definitely were nice. Price wise, I was quoted $200 for 215/55-17. I don't think you can go wrong with the Toyos. I went with the M3 mainly because of other sport car owners reviews.
