props from a yorkville infiniti mechanic

Indeed..
as some of you might know.. i am goign thru some very hard
time of reverting everything (mostly everything..) to stock in
order to satisfy my insurance company..

and today, i had my 32000 service done + putting the OEM springs
back on ...
and i indeed waited at yorkville infiniti till like 7 30pm for them to
finish my car. After that, a mechanic took my car for a spin
to check my rear alighment to see how off are they..

after the spin, his comment was:
" Your G is the fastest i have ever driven.. and i am sorry to hear
you that you have to go back to stock..."
his props served two purposes:

1) confirming my earlier choices of the mods that i have had..
2) making me feel even more sad since i have to go back to stock..
3) i am going to make a sound/video clip of my intake/exhaust setup
tmr morning before i take my stillen out..

Btw, i have had a chance to chat with Mario, the new service manager
for awhile. He seemed a nice guy..but yet, he looked a bit too serious,
and not as customer friendly as Jerry..

I know that we all miss you Jerry..

to be continued..with clips

godmans...that is great things are going your way now and things worked out at Yorkville. That's cool the mechanic was impressed with the performance of your ride.

Godmans, I'm glad you found someone you can rely on and like.
Jerry spoiled us a lot, and he'll be hard to replace, but I wouldn't hold being "serious" against Mario.
So long as he listens, gives you good service and a decent shake, you're winning.
Colin.

It only takes one idiot behind a counter eating donuts, reading a "WHAT NOT DO FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS" manual to open a can of worms and start giving you grief. I wouldn't take any chances and go ONLY where I know they are mod friendly.

Oakville Infinit is where I go now. These guys are real professionals and happy to do mods on G's and Z's without even mentioning anythig about warranty this and that. These guys even have Stillen and Nismo parts for sale and other aftermarket stuff.

I'm still going to Yorkville and I've had great service there. Mario is actually a nice guy. But I've been dealing with Matei majority of the time and he's been great. He's really nice and took very good care of me since Jerry's departure.

Good to hear the Tech's like your car, I always get compliments from them when I go in!

PDT, good to hear that Yorkville is still providing good service because I'll need to go there soon, first time after Jerry left. I've dealt with Matei before as well, and found him to be quite helpful and friendly.

the reason why i say Mario is being too serious is probably because
Jerry was just TOO GOOD.. he gave me all the confidence..and won't
give me any BS in servicing my car..

for instance, at around 27k, my car had some serious squeaking with my
front brakes... (while my brake pads and rotors had been changed once
already at around 16k.. at that point.. i went in once with Matei..
and he said that the Techs inspected my pads and saw nth wrong with
them, they still had at least 60% of service life...

after like a week or two, i really coudn't live with the squeaking anymore,
i bring in the car one more time (while i have to fix the hinges of my hood
at the same time..) this time, Jerry did the same thing, had the Techs
checked my pads.. but instead of telling me that there was nth they could
do..

he just proceeded and changed my pads under warranty.. (even though
he commented the squeaking is because my pads prematurely hardened..
due to unusual driving?...)

anyways, props to Jerry.. but at the same time, i believe Matei and Mario
are nice guys.

regards,
Godmans

p.s. my exhaust is gone... my stillen CAI is gone... i feel alot less pull at rpm>3500..

I still like yorkville.
They're cool guys. They fixed my axle creek a few weeks ago.

They all said that i had the cleanest car they've ever seen. But then it was lest outsice all day and i picked it up covered with leaves and dust. LOL

Oh well. That's my fault for buying a black car.

BTW are you selling any of your stuff?

for my stuff..
i believe i m selling my
1) stillen catback
2) stillen cai
3) eibach lowering springs

for the other stuff.. i have sold some of them already
and i believe i will be keeping the plenum spacer and
my grounding kit

damnit.. when i am trying to fit my stillen catback
into my condo storage space.. the stillen looks so damn
good... when compared to what i have been seeing all
day today.. (my stock exhaust..)

but anyways, i know not many ppl like the stillen because
of the fact that they are loud, but if i am "allowed" to have
them, i would never change them until they break
but the sale for the catback is pending anyways.. but i
dun wanna ship to the states lol.. i hate packaging them

good luck with all the fellow G enthusiasts.. i once remember
Jerry saying that : "once you start modding, it can never end
since it is not only a hobby but a HABIT (which means you can
never stop thinking abt them lol)..."

cheers,
Godmans

BTW,

let me take to chance to once again thank Chico to help
me put together a stock exhaust...
(since i threw part of my stock exhaust away to a tuner shop lol...)
without him, i would still be loss in trying to find a complete stock
setup for my exhaust

regards,
Godmans

yes..
i have a sedan,
according to my knowledge..
the stillen cai is universal to sedan and coupe
since it is just replacing the stock airbox with
a box of slightly thicker polymer and a popcharger
inside

cheers
