Driver Side Door Key Hole Cover

I recently installed the factory key hole cover on the driver side door to smooth out the side for a cleaner look and to match the passenger side. Changing the existing cap to the new cover is really easy. All you need to do is carefully pop off the old one and the new one simply snaps into place. It takes less than a minute.

It's really inexpensive and cool mod for only $26.00 bucks (taxes included). The part # is 82646-AM810 which was for Brilliant Silver as it comes color coded for your G.

I ordered mine from Yorkville Infiniti (downtown Toronto) 416-975-2623. Ask for Gabe, the Parts Manager, who now knows this is a really cool mod as well. . Provide Gabe the color code of your vehicle or your VIN number and he'll look it up.

Click the link below to get an idea how it looks like.

Yeah, it easily pop's off. Just lift the door handle (door won't open since it's locked), and use any sharp long instrument to just pry out the cover a little and it comes off really easily. And yes, it's just a cover over the keyhole.

I've been using my keyfob for over 2 years and have never used the keyhole.

Thumbs up

Great looking mod, Ben. I like it.
Depending how easy that cover comes off, I may want something like that for my M. Cool.

I'm with ya there. The possible grief from that overcomes the cosmetic upgrade being made for me.

Yup, that is the only reason which prevents me from slapping that cover on.

Deane and Andy, I fully agree, bros....I'm expecting and hoping that cover comes back off easily, to be able to get to the keyhole.
Soon as the weather breaks, I'll poke around with the cover that's there and see what's what.

My KHC fell off when I closed the door the other day and wouldn't snap back in and hold. So I ordered the solid OB KHC. Just talked the the body shop who ordered it, and he said it has two pieces. One that seems to have an allen key adjustment and he may have to take the door/handle apart to put it in. ????
I'll pop over with the G to check it out.
I hope he's mistaken and it is as easy as duhprez suggested.

The keyhole cover was one of the first things I did to my car. Like the OP said, it's really easy to put on and get off. You don't have take anything apart to do it, just pull the door handle open with the door locked and "pop" off the keyhole piece. I've never had a problem with my key fob but if I do, I can't see removing the KHC being a problem.

^sounds like you need the KPTech windows up module.

...always wondered about the KH delete.
I love the aesthetics of the mod but wondered about O.S. access.

some pics from another post that shows how the cover is clipped in place.

..just noticed the unlock button, this must be a 2nd gen.
I would imagine the clippage is similar though.
