A good friend of mine has just picked up the first Lotus Elise in Canada. It will be on display at the Toronto Auto Show this Feb. I've sat in it this past Monday down at Gentry lane.
All I can say is I hope he doesn't get into an argument with an 18 wheeler.
There is not much to the car, but it goes like stink for a 1.8L motor.
An exotic car but not for exotic money.

B.

they don't actually sell lotus's in Canada do they? at one point in considered importing one from the states, but the cost of maintaining it without a dealership in Canada would've been too much to bear.

Congrats to your friend though Elises are definitely eye catching!

Noddleman,

Lotus is actually in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal.
The TO dealer is Gentry Lane.

The Elise will be featured in an article this coming Saturday in the Toronto Star Wheels section. Its actually owned by my buddys Mom( she is 75yrs old btw and a former Ferrari Dino owner). He has the car for now( until its broken in and then it will be moved to the Kingston area.
As I mentioned before, the Elise will be on display at the Toronto Auto Show. If you happen to meet my buddy " Campbell", tell him your on G35Driver.

Bill

So I was walking down St. George today when a gray G35C pulls out and floors it, chirping its tires and making all sorts of nice engine noise. I cheer "G!!!" and watch it fly down the street. Gf shoots me an odd look, and mentions something about immature behaviour.

Anyway, good show.

About that gorgeous blue M5... I see that thing around BA a lot. Damn rich kids.

Nice. I was googling all yesterday trying to find out info about the Elise in Toronto, and it lead me to Gentry Lane $58k is definitely a doable price! but alas, the time's past...I'm too in love with my Z now to move away from it.

I remember one time I was in England, and I see a Z parked on the side of the road, then the Elise pulled up and parked behind it so I got a nice side by side comparison (in terms of looks at least). The Elise is like some exotic go-kart and super eye catching compared to the z. And it made the Z look even bigger than it already looks.

The good point to the Z was that the Elise is MUCH smaller than the z, to the point where i dont' think i would have much room in it, and i'm a pretty tiny guy.

Apologize to your GF for me ISO OCTANE for the immature behaviour but after driving around in a circle for 20 minutes trying to find parking and being late for class, WOT seemed like the appropriate action in my bout of frustration. However, I am glad that at least it was appreciated by one person.

Oh, was that you? LOL.

Yeah, parking sucks. Finding a spot is hard, then you have to worry about the people that can't park that well.

Anyway, that bit of WOT made my day. Nice car!
