Icons are in!

Okay, guys. Good news for those of you that were waiting. Rick at Aero just got the Bosch Icons in. I was there this morning, and they weren't in yet, so they must have just arrived.

Price was going to be about $25, but Rick will do them for G35 Drivers for $20!

Just e-mail Rick. He'll let you know the sizes he has in stock, as well as the shipping costs. His price to us for the Icons and Valeos make them the best price I've seen for these type of blades, and I know that his shipping rates are very fair.

Total price shipped per pair comes out to less than the CDN Tire ones I believe!

doh - i should have checked this thread before i called bosch. anyways, net net is that the canadian bosch distributor (robert bosch inc.) has been getting icons and shipping them in the past few weeks. the only place close to downtown toronto that gets them is renfern auto parts at 100 bridgeland ave. 416.787.2471.

they're different in two main ways that i know of. first of all, they are an armless design, which keeps more of the blade in constant contact with the windhield. secondly, they have an aerodynamic lip that is better to keep them from "chattering" at speed. plus, the bosch wiper material i find is better than OEM (i had them on my previous car).

I just had a chance to compare the Icons with the Valeos yesterday.

From what I can see, not a whole lot of difference in construction quality, nor design. The new Valeo, with the re-designed mount is a little more stream-lined than the Icon, and the Icon, with the well designed enclosed mount, looks less minimalist.

The Icons come in 2 flavours, ie. the angle/curve to better fit the driver or passenger side without 'tweaking'. Also the packaging is much nicer.

Either way, it's a toss-up. Over-all the edge might go to Bosch if the price difference is minimal.

i put the blades on this weekend and am impressed with how they dealt with the light drizzle this morning. i'll need a lot more rain to know how much of a difference they make - but my original blades were 4 years old so...
