Went to the show on friday night. They're finally selling these here in Canada! I want one so bad.

Also, there is a short clip inside the show program/carguide that I bought that said Nissan will debut the new G coupe and sedan at the NYC auto show in april. hmmm... road trip anyone?

LOL

That's an '06 Lotus Elise.
They just came in to Canada recently. My friends mom picked up the first one in Canada(she's 72!!!). Its also on display at the CAIS( it's British Racing Green with black rims)@ the Gentry Lane display.

it's not a car, it's a go-kart on steroids.

Bill,
How does Mrs. Bryson like her Elise? I've still got the Star article from the beginning of Feb. on her newest toy.

Read the article too. Very cool, "nice-to-hear" story.
The comparo between the Cayman and Exige, it's hardtop twin, highlights the shortcomings of the car. I want one, but as our 3rd, not 2nd car. I'll keep everyone up to date on how my savings plan is going. Currently, a negative number, soon to become moreso with new tires and perhaps an MREV plus kit, somewhere down the road.

Cheers,
D

Heard that too.
HERE

Toronto seems to be taking a back seat lately,
even though they're rated as an international show...

I'm not too sure how she likes it or not but I sure know that her son loves it.
He's already upgraded the exhaust to a level 2 system.
Mrs.Bryson hasn't driven the car yet but she will soon. The car will be in Toronto until after its first service and then off to the Kingston area.

I read yesterday Chicago is the largest one in North America so I'm sure that is a factor.

There are so many things you can do with that lotus. A lot of people take the stock engine out and swap to a B18C5 from an Integra Type R. So many bolt ons... That car with 240hp would be soooooooo dangerous.

For road work, not sure I'd want the Exige- did you read the C&D comparo with the Cayman S? It seems like the sacrifice of speed for handling with the Exige Aero pkg is substantial, compared with the Elise, they indicated. While the downforce would be cool, having Civic-like highway acceleration might not. I know it's a rocketship from a standstill, but I'm referring strictly to get up and go once underway, here- 120 up to 180 say. I think my preference would be the Elise- you can "hard top" it faster than removing the top from the Exige, and the handling on either is reportedly out of this world. I just read in one of this month's mags about the more civilized coupe that Lotus will coming out with for 07-08 (Europa, I think it's currently being dubbed, after a much older model of the same name). This will have more mass appeal, as it will be Cayman/Boxster competitor with more engine than an Elise (think S2K engine), but still 500 lbs lighter than either of the Porsches or the S2K. Gimme a 240hp, 2450 lbs coupe with a modest collection of amenities and sign me up.

good points, but to be honest, I dont' really know if I would actually want an elise or exige as a road going car. While they're very fun cars to drive i'm sure, i'm just not sure if this car was made for daily driving (as opposed to tracking).

I just mentioned the exige cause just like any consumer, I just want more haha, even if i don't really want it :P

The elise and exige are great cars, especially if you have the K20A & supercharger transplant done. However, based on my trips to Toronto, I can't see any of them being a daily drive taking into account your cold winter conditions and state of roads.
