JUST paid her off . Feels Good !

.
Yesterday (Friday) I wrote a $15k cashier's check at the bank (who gave me the loan ) to pay off the G .. She is legally all mine now and not the banks' property .. It feels good man let me tell ya to have a nice (fairly new) vehicle at under 17k kilometres and its Officially owned.. How many owners here are actual owners ? And don't have to pay payments to a bank ?

I figured it out, and through the course of the remainder of the loan, I saved about $4,000 by paying it off and avoiding those interest charges..

Gonna use that for the rims and tires

Congrats, man....it's a great feeling isn't it.......

Kudos to all who are fully 'paid up', and good luck to those who are still working towards that goal.

In this day of ultra low finance/lease rates, it's very often much better to take the car loan out and maximize earnings in other areas - for Canadians, an easy move is maximizing RRSPs. Maybe setting aside and RESP if you've got kids that will need money for school, etc.

Paying a car off isn't necessarily the 'best' thing to do, if you have other options available to you. Mind you, it is a good feeling whenever you've got one less payment every month.

Congrats!

I got my 05 bs sedan in December and paid it off on Wednesday. I guess you can say I own it, but I took a second mortgage on my house to pay it off and put some moolah in the bank. I figured I am better off deducting the interest on my taxes instead of wasting it on the car and not being able to deduct it. It feels good to have a 23k mile car paid off. Now I hope I don't go crazy on mods...I already purchased a k&n filter/ztube, coupe mid pipe, Gordgee's 10 wire performance kit, tokico d specs/Tein h tech's both for 350z and a set of 03 chrome track edition wheels with BfGoodrich kdw nt tires. I guess I already have gone nuts with mods.

That's one difference between Canada and the US- mortgage interest is not tax deductible here in Canada.
