Coilover Up North and for Daily Drive?!??!

Sup Gs,
There are so much suspension mod to choose from. People suggest this and that on the forum and all of them are happy with their setup. Are there any Gs out there in the Great White North running Coilover?!?! Or should i just use the good old spring + shock combo??!

Thanks in advance!!

You've got to be careful about how low you set your coilovers if you are doing much driving up north. Some of the roads around Baysville and Huntsville have started to sag where people drive on them, but the center is actually higher. I have bottomed out in the center of my car - not a good feeling! This means that you are taking weight off your wheels and loosing traction. Thankfully has never happened in a corner. I am investigating ways to raise or lower the suspension from inside the car without negatively affecting the handling.

i've heard that coilover's isn't a good idea if you plan to drive in the winter since most coilovers weren't made to take all the salt abuse, thus shortening the life of the coilover dramatic with rust and other issues....

You'll be fine if you service them every year, but it can be a pain. The thread will seize to start with.

The old-fashioned airbags will never be put on my car. Here is a new system designed by Praxis (the Bridgestone tire people). I rode in a suby with this system and it was amazing. Unfortunately Praxis does not have any plans to make a system for the G (no matter how much I begged).

The other system is by Roberuta in Japan. Looks good, just can't find anyone who has installed it in NA. And it's super expensive!

It's tough to run coilovers on a daily drive.

KW makes a stainless steel set. The threads won't seize. Bit I don't know the rest of it will cope with the salt and the cold.

You might want to look at springs and D-Specs or Koni shocks.
