May 6th Track Day a Success! Next Event Info!

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to thank Godmans and BigWilly for coming out ... we had a great track day. Lots of fun heading in to Shannonville, especially with a 12 car convoy!

Godman ... I'm sure you enjoyed the 'Show' that my boys and I put on, on our way back out to Toronto! (U missed a good one *****)

Pics and Videos are still being collected, so I'll post them on here when I recieve them all from my friends. I'll send em to both of you guys (Godman, *****)

Overall we had a great turn out, 17 Cars ... no incidents, cept the Mazda3 boys who ended up in the grass! haha

Now that my G was tracked stock, its time for the Pro-Kit to get installed, along with rims and tires.

Next track day is already planned ...

When: Saturday, June 17th, 2006
Where: Shannonville - Nelson (Fabi was already booked)
Price: $60 Prepaid, $80 the day of.
Who: Most of the great people that tracked with us on the 6th.
Upcoming: Dunnville, Cayuga, and the 'graduating class' Mosport!

Here's a teaser:

Guess you guys don't care about safety.

A few of us brought them but didn't wear them. The only track that makes helmets mandatory is Mosport.

I don't see many helmets at Shannonville.

We've always had set rules, and a zero tolerance policy.

No passing anywhere, except on the only straight away, and only when the driver ahead of you signals you to.

We never have more than 12 cars on the track with proper spacing and classes.

No 'drafting'

Zero tolerance to acting like an '***' on the track, you don't comply, you get kicked off ... no refunds.

We have hosted over 12 Lapping Days without any incident.

We run by a INVITE only policy. The people that come to our events are all 'personal' friends and family.

We have enough mutual respect and maturity. We're not out there to prove anything to anyone ... just to yourself.

It has always been a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

If you guys have so much to "rag" about ... simply shut up and leave my thread. I'm not forcing to you participate. Even if you showed interested, I still have to invite you.

If this is your attitude towards people who show concern about safety on track, then I consider it a compliment not being invited. Thank you.

For those who are curious about safety, read on. There is always a ****-happens factor on track no matter how well behaved everyone perceives themselves to be. You are pushing your car a lot harder than you do on the street and sometimes things just break. Personally, I feel that if someone doesn't take responsibility for their own safety, then I sure as hell will not trust them with MY safety while sharing a track.

Helmets for most tracking events aren't mandatory. If you are fortunate enough to own one or can afford to buy one, then kudos. I've been in the market for a helmet for the last year or so, just have yet been able to allocate the funds to purchase one. Just because a driver doesn't have a helmet doesn't automatically deem him as unsafe. You have yet to make an ignorant comment, but another poster above automatically labeled us unsafe.

Looking at your list of cars and mods, I'm thinking a couple hundred bucks for a helmet probably doesn't take a year to save for. Sorry, that's not an excuse...if you can afford to track your car, you can afford to buy a helmet period. Not doing so is irresponsible.

Helmets are mandatory for all track events that carry proper event insurance - event insurance can only be purchased if your lapping rules follow ASN FIA rules. So, why event insurance? Well, have you ever thought about what happens should someone get seriously injured or worse, killed? Sure you can make everyone sign a waiver but what if their family sues you as the organizer?
