Installing Infill G4 DD unit in 05 G35 Sedan

Anyone interested in knowing how it goes?

I haven't finished planning out the install but I can post more info once I do.

I'd be interested in your thoughts on the G4 when you install it. I always thought the all in one DD units were pretty clever.

I did have a chance to play with it quite a bit. It was installed in another car before. If paired with Centrafuse (which I will) it becomes a pretty powerful yet easy to use entertainment system for the car.

The one thing that I didn't try yet is tethering the CarPC to my iPhone to get always on internet access in the car. Should be pretty cool to listen to streaming radio from the net while driving.

The infill unit itself is well built and easy to work with. You need to supply the Hard Drive and the RAM and the DVD-ROM/R/RW of your choice.

I choose 30Gb OCz SSD for the HDD, 1 DDR2 SODIMM, and Panasonic slim slot loading DVD R/RW (you must use Panasonic or else the button doesn't line up properly)

I'll post pics later on when I get my DD replacement kit and start putting everything together.

Update:

The double din came in from Japan to my locan Nissan dealership where I picked it up recently. I am glad that they now offer the HVAC controller with the "dual" button, therefore I don't have to modify any of my original equipment.

I am now looking for an installer as I don't really have a good place for me to work on this and it needs to be completed within the next 5 weeks to be ready for a show that my car will be in.

I will post pics of dual zone controller later on.

I was looking at that unit. Saw the previous install with streetdeck loaded, looked nice. One thing that gets me is the steering wheel controls. You plan on integrating that? I'd be really interested in how that goes so please let us know how it goes!
