so I guess you won't be able to answer my next question but maybe you watched the guys at the shop closely.

based on your earlier post I can see that you need to remove the film from the chrome housing right? is there clips or screws or did they have to cut?

Lastly, once the film was removed how did they install it in the oem housing? is there some type of frame that remains with the film after you remove the alpine housing?

thanks for all your help

the protective film wasn't removed because it links the touch screen to the device. only thing that was taking apart was the housing so it could fit flush inside the HD unit display casing. I don't have all the detail because this was done while I was overseas however, if you like the results and thinking about going this route I can put you in touch with the shop where I got the work done at.

bought a xenarc touchscreen, I think I will give it a shot.

This is the ultimate setup, don't know why more people don't give this setup a shot.

anybody saw this yet ? It is a module that lets you duplicate an iphone screen on to a larger resistive touch screen; given that your iphone is jailbroken

https://store.mp3car.com/ProductDeta...e=MimicsModule

the module is suppose to work with a standard Lilliput 7" 4-wire resistive touch screen monitor

http://store.mp3car.com/Lilliput_669..._p/mon-124.htm

would this possibly fit in the 05 stock pop up housing?

Would this work with a tablet also? Also if you go somewhere and want to disconnect the computer it would not have any issues being reconnected?
